Student answer (Band 5.0)
With urbanization and development in cities, supermarkets can be in almost every places which makes buying groceries easier in most of the countries. Eventhough having a supermarket in a locality can be convinient in these busy schedule, I dont think it is a positive development mainly because it takes away the costumers of small shops and not just that the foods that are found in big markets are mostly the package food which won't be as healthy as fress foods.
On the one hand, people search for an alternative that doesn't take away much of their time, as most of them are busy working, making a living. Supermarket offers these people exactly what they want; people don't have to go to different place to buy vegetable, fruits, package foods, spices and other necessaries, because every items they need in eveyday life can be found in one place, making it convenient and easily accessible
On the other hand, despite the fact that we have every daily items in a single place, the products aren't fresh as they are purchased at once. Moreover, the package food don't provide the same amount of nutrients as the fresh foods from the market which might have effect in our health.
In conclusion , I dont thik

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially and fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, stopping abruptly at 211 words with an incomplete conclusion ("In conclusion , I dont thik"). While the writer takes a clear position against globalized supermarket food, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, the point about packaged foods lacking nutrients is stated briefly without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend all supporting arguments, ensure a complete concluding paragraph, and meet the necessary length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation evident in the text, with a basic attempt to divide ideas into an introduction, body paragraphs, and an unfinished conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the abrupt ending disrupts the logical flow. Cohesive devices are used repetitively or somewhat inaccurately, such as relying heavily on basic transitions like "On the one hand" and "On the other hand" without fully managing referencing within sentences (for instance, linking plural nouns with singular pronouns like "the package food don't"). To improve, the writer needs to ensure smoother transitions between ideas, avoid repetitive structural patterns, and write a fully developed progression from start to finish.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The writer attempts some less common terms such as "urbanization," "accessible," and "nutrients," but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling, such as "convinient," "costumers," "package food" instead of "packaged food," and "fress foods." These lexical inaccuracies occasionally cause difficulty or distraction for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, use correct word forms and collocations consistently, and eliminate spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences or faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like "supermarkets can be in almost every places" and "the package food don't provide," as well as missing articles and preposition errors. These frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex structures and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as pluralization and verb agreement.
