Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the contemporary society, shoppers can purchase different cusinies in the shopping mall that are produced in different nations in the globe. In my opinion, this is a positive development as it convenience and accessible.
Firstly, one primary benefit of globalisation is that it is convenience. This stems from the fact that it safe the people from the hassle of transporting to several countries to buy their local products such as food, fruits and so on thereby saving cost. some people could order several food at the convenience of their home without several expenses on accommodation, airplane tickets and others because they need a particular items. For example, apple which is produced in China and United states are shipping to Nigeria at an affordable rate.
Furthermore, a notable advantages of buying different foreign foods in the supermarket from another country is that it makes food accessible to the populations. This is because there would be varieties of food which could boost their overall well-being and enable them to easily be able to access those crops in different cities. Hence, this will boost the economy of the countries. For instance, cashew nuts are sold in several stores in America which has boost their diet after transporting them from different countries in Africa.
In conclusion, I believe it is a positive side to transport several local food from foreign countries to different nations that do not cultivate them around the world as it could be boost convenience and be easily accessible to consumers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that the availability of global food in supermarkets is a positive development. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as convenience, cost savings, and improved accessibility to diverse diets. However, some ideas remain under-developed or lack full elaboration. For instance, the point regarding the economic boost to countries is stated generally without strong supporting details. Examples provided, such as apples shipped from China and the United States to Nigeria or cashew nuts transported to America, are somewhat generalized and could be further expanded to fully explore the broader implications of global trade on local agriculture and consumer habits. The overall stance remains clear throughout, but deeper exploration of the arguments would elevate the development of ideas further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving from an introduction to two distinct body paragraphs and a conclusion. There is a logical progression of ideas, as each body paragraph introduces a specific benefit, starting with convenience and moving on to accessibility. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, such as the awkward transitional phrasing in the conclusion. Furthermore, referencing pronouns and conjunctions are sometimes repetitive, which prevents the flow from being entirely smooth. The half band is earned through the clear overall structure and adequate paragraphing, while a higher band is missed due to occasional mechanical transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey basic ideas about globalisation and food consumption. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary items, such as 'globalisation', 'convenience', and 'well-being', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form. Examples of lexical slips include 'cusinies' instead of 'cuisines', 'it convenience and accessible' instead of 'convenient and accessible', and 'it safe the people' instead of 'it saves people'. Spelling and word-form errors, such as 'shipping' instead of 'shipped' and 'has boost' instead of 'has boosted', occur throughout the text and cause some difficulty for the reader, reflecting limitations in lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as relative clauses and conditional-style reasoning. However, there is a limited range of grammatical structures employed reliably. Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation appear throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, subject-verb agreement issues, and missing articles or prepositions. For example, phrases like 'apple which is produced' should be plural, 'are shipping to Nigeria' contains an incorrect verb form, and 'a notable advantages' exhibits a pluralisation error. These frequent errors in grammar and sentence patterns can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, keeping the control of grammar at this level.
