Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response addresses the prompt minimally, stating an opinion ('I strongly positive with this view point'), but the development of ideas is heavily restricted and repetitive. Rather than extending clear supporting arguments about the positive and negative aspects of globalized food supply, the writer provides circular and confusing statements, such as 'people have buy the food in big cities and sold the small cities.' While an overall position is stated in the introduction and conclusion, the lack of coherent elaboration and the heavy reliance on repetitive phrases limit the development of the topic, resulting in a response that only touches upon the subject tangentially rather than exploring it fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The organization of the text lacks clear logical progression, making it difficult for the reader to follow the train of thought. Paragraphing is attempted, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is chaotic. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as the repeated misuse of transition phrases like 'On the other hand' and 'For instance,' which do not logically connect the preceding ideas to the examples provided. Referencing and pronoun use are also unclear, creating significant breaks in the flow of information throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and frequently repetitive, relying on a narrow range of words such as 'food,' 'super markets,' 'cities,' and 'people.' There are frequent errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as 'purchaser' instead of 'purchasers' or 'consumers,' 'manufacture' instead of 'manufactured,' and 'avliability' instead of 'availability.' These lexical inaccuracies and the limited variety of terms strain the reader's understanding and reflect a restricted vocabulary suitable for expressing only the simplest concepts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammatical structures are very limited and heavily compromised by frequent errors. Simple sentence forms dominate, and attempts at more complex structures fail, leading to non-standard syntax. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'In few countries nowadays' instead of 'In many countries' and 'peole have agree the buy food.' Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic throughout the text. These persistent errors frequently distort the intended meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader.
