In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, consumers buying food produced all over the world from super market has become increasingly common. Although this development has some drawbacks, I believe it has more advantages because people can get variety of food they love and it can be easy for international prople living in other country to get food they like.
One of the advantages of this development is that people can taste wide variety of food. This means that when supermarket provides different ranges of food, people can try it and find best which they like. Moreover they dont need to visit different countries and buy from there, they can get what they like in their own country. For instance a coffee lover can try international coffees living in his country and get the one which he finds best. As a result, people can have accesibility to wide diversity of food living in their own country.
Another major benefit it that it can help tourist and international people who live in our country to get the food of their chouce. When supermarket will keep food from all over the globe, the people who belong from different nations with different food taste can easily get their choice of food. For instance, international student will be more happy if he finds his desi food abroad. It can promote tourism and flexibility to international people living in other part of the world.
In conclusion, although this trend has some drawbacks, I firmly agree that it has more pros because it gives people an apportunity to taste foods all over the world and also people from other nations can get their prefered food living abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that global food availability is a positive development, supporting it with relevant ideas. However, the development of these ideas is uneven. While the main body paragraphs present reasons such as the enjoyment of a variety of foods and catering to international residents, some points are repetitive and under-developed, relying on general statements rather than deep extension. For instance, the example of a coffee lover is somewhat basic and not fully elaborated. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need more thorough expansion and more sophisticated supporting details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas throughout. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, separating the introduction, two distinct body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' are employed to link ideas, although referencing and linking can occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'people can get what they like'. To move further up, the student could incorporate a wider variety of more sophisticated transitional phrases and ensure referencing is seamless and unobtrusive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the writer's meaning. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items and topic-related terms, such as 'accessibility', 'diversity', and 'international student'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and spelling, such as 'super market' instead of supermarket, 'prople' instead of people, 'accesibility', and 'chouce' instead of choice. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect a limited range and occasional slips. A richer, more precise vocabulary with fewer spelling and collocation errors is needed for the next level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over grammar. There are instances of complex structures, such as concessive clauses beginning with 'Although this development has some drawbacks'. However, there are some errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including missing articles ('living in other country'), pronoun and number agreement issues ('the people who belong from different nations with different food taste'), and missing apostrophes ('dont'). Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to produce a greater proportion of error-free sentences while maintaining a wide variety of complex grammatical structures.
