Student answer (Band 6.0)
In multiple nations, nowadays buyers can go to a supermarket and purchase goods and also buy cuisines yielded all over the world. This is a positive development but some suggestions should be keep in mind before these practices and I shall elaborate the whole scenerio with the help of suitable reasons.
To begin with, due to the advancements in technology, especially in a transport industry individuals become able to buy these cuisines which they are unable to buy in the past. This whole credit goes to modern transport system and ferries that are able to bring food which is produced all over the world to their own countries. Furthermore, a handful of nations do not have enough resources and capacities to yield these particular cuisnes in their own countries, that is why these cuisines are imported by importers from other countires for local people. A prime instance are those countries who do not have varieties of rice and bananas in their own nations, therefore wealthy importers import these rice and bananas from these places where plenty of rice and bananas are produced by individuals.
Nonetheless, this practice also has some drawbacks for the local businessmen and producers. Indeed, when all importers commence to buy international products and foods then this may be directly pose threats to local food producers, due to the fact that local buyers pay attentions to the international products instead of local once. That is why this practice also has some demerits. In this regard, governments can facilitate them by providing subsidies on seeds and fertilizers. It is then, local buyers can also able to provide food to local individuals at low prices.
To put it briefly. although individuals can buy food which is produced all over the world, it is a positive development with some drawbacks for local buyers. Following this, governments and other private authorities can facilitate local yielders by utilising and developing some strategies for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that the global food trade is a positive development while acknowledging potential drawbacks for local businesses. The main ideas are generally relevant and extended, meeting the requirements of the lower band while showing glimpses of higher-level development. For instance, you explain the role of modern transport and the lack of local resources clearly with examples like rice and bananas. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or repetitive, such as the discussion on government subsidies, which lacks deeper exploration into how this specifically balances international competition. To reach a higher level, you should ensure every main point is fully elaborated with robust, distinct supporting arguments rather than generalized statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing that guides the reader logically from your introduction through your supporting points to the conclusion. You make use of standard cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'Nonetheless' to structure your thoughts. However, cohesion can sometimes feel a bit mechanical, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as when pronouns like 'this practice' and 'them' are used repetitively without varied phrasing. To progress further, you should aim for a smoother, more flexible integration of cohesive devices and ensure that referencing pronouns point back precisely to their intended antecedents, allowing the logical progression of ideas to flow more naturally without relying on predictable transition formulas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating your core message to the reader. You attempt less common vocabulary items and phrases like 'yielded all over the world', 'transport system and ferries', and 'subsidies on seeds and fertilizers'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as using 'cuisines' instead of crops or food, 'yield' instead of produce or grow, and spelling errors like 'scenerio' and 'once' instead of 'ones'. These lexical inaccuracies prevent the vocabulary from reaching a higher standard. To improve, focus on mastering natural collocations and precise word forms, ensuring that specialized terminology is used accurately in context rather than relying on literal translations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms throughout your essay, attempting structures such as conditional and relative clauses. There are some grammatical errors and punctuation issues present, including articles, subject-verb agreement, and awkward phrasing such as 'suggestions should be keep in mind' and 'local buyers can also able to provide'. Nevertheless, these errors rarely impede communication, allowing your meaning to remain understandable throughout. To move towards a higher level of grammatical accuracy and range, you need to exercise better control over complex sentence patterns, verb morphology, and prepositional usage, ensuring that your sentences are consistently well-formed and largely free from basic structural mistakes.
