Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is undeniable that consumers go to malls and purchasing food made by all over the world has become increasingly prevalent in modern society. While some people believe that this trend could have certain disadvantages, I firmly believe that it is largely a positive development because certain food is not produced in the country itself and consuming them at a specific limit makes it even more satisfying. And another benifit is that purchasing the food which is made only for health purpose, adding zero sugar with high protien diet, takes you to another step towards your fitness goals while enjoying the journey.
To begin with, the most significant benifit of this development is getting to try new dishes instead of same old boring packets. This is primarily because curiosity while growing up with eating the same packages and beverages makes us think of trying something new everyday. As a result buying new food that has been produced in a different country can bring a type of joy for having it. Therefore, this development can significantly contribute to mental health as people become more happier in their life.
Furthermore, another important advantageous thing is that if the acquired food is healty in terms of fitness and gut health, folks will definetly want to buy this. The main reason for this is that, nowadays many people have started investing in their health, due to the concerns of low quality of life and food. Consequently, making them to think to invest in something which makes their fitness goals achievable. For instance, teenagers buying proccessed food which is not good for them in longer terms, the food coming from all over the world will create competition and may result in producing healthier food.
In conclusion, although there might be many possible reasons not to buy food produced from another country which you do not know what is in it, still i would like say that reading the ingredients on the food can guarantee that the food is healthy to eat or no.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you consider international food access largely positive, and you give reasons involving variety, enjoyment, and potentially healthier products. These are relevant to the question, but the response only partly develops the argument. The first body paragraph explains that trying new food can be enjoyable, yet the link to improved mental health is asserted rather than supported. The health argument is less clear: the example about teenagers and processed food does not show convincingly how imported products would create competition or lead to healthier options. The conclusion also shifts towards checking ingredients, rather than directly weighing the overall benefits and drawbacks. Develop each reason with a specific, logical example and make the final judgement consistent with your main position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Consequently, making them to think to invest” is not a complete, clear continuation of the preceding idea, and the relationship between teenagers’ processed-food consumption and international competition needs explaining. The conclusion introduces ingredient checking without clearly connecting it to the earlier points. Use pronouns and transitions to make relationships explicit, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point from claim to explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “produced,” “fitness goals,” “gut health,” and “ingredients,” and you attempt phrases such as “mental health” and “quality of life.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “acquired food,” “a type of joy for having it,” and “another important advantageous thing.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “benifit,” “healty,” “definetly,” and “proccessed.” Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe the “availability of imported foods” rather than “acquired food,” and use “benefit” consistently instead of repeating vague phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “While” and “because,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “consumers go to malls and purchasing food” does not maintain a parallel verb form, while “Consequently, making them to think to invest” is a fragment with an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence beginning “For instance, teenagers buying…” is also incomplete. There are further issues with articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “the food is healthy to eat or no.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check verb forms and clause boundaries when joining ideas.
