Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recents time in many countries nowadays, consumers can go to super market and buy food produced all over the world it has became a widespread phenomenal while this development brings certain drawbacks. I firmly believe that merits outweighs its downside.
Primarily advantage to purchase food and grocery from supermarket are people can enjoy a much wider range of food products even form other countries. In past consumer are dependent on the local shops on producing lower grade of food categories, whereas today they can easily purchase products from another countries. For instance people in America can easily purchase Indian mangoes, people of Japan can buy cereals from Australia. This gives consumer more choice and allow them to experienced different cultures through food.
Another benefits is that international food trade can create economic opportunities for farmers and for the food industry. they can sell their food in foreign market, which can increase their income and create employment. In addition, competition between domestic and international producers may encourage companies and farmers to improve their quality of the product and keep price steady and competitive. However, there are also some negative consequences. transporting food over long distance required fuel and can contribute to environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, an excessive dependency on imported food may affect negatively local farmers, particularly when imported products are cheaper than locally produced ones.
In conclusion despite the noticeable drawbacks of going to super market to buy food produced all over the world, associated with the overall advantages for more impact full. It is highly recommended that global availability of food can create environmental problems and put pressure on local producers. I believe that it is a positive development overall the greater variety for consumers and economic opportunities crated by international trader.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you believe the benefits of globally available food outweigh the drawbacks. You address both sides with relevant points, including consumer choice, farmers’ access to overseas markets, environmental costs and pressure on local producers. The examples of Indian mangoes in America and Australian cereals in Japan help illustrate the variety argument. This meets the task well, and the response shows some of the stronger development expected at the next level. However, several ideas remain general: for example, the economic benefits are asserted without a specific illustration, and the environmental and local-farmer concerns are not explored in depth. The conclusion also becomes confusing because it first appears to recommend global availability despite drawbacks, then restates the positive position. Make the final judgement direct and consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph that also considers drawbacks, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Primarily,” “In addition,” “However” and “In conclusion” make the main relationships between ideas visible. This gives the essay a coherent overall arrangement. At times, though, the progression is less controlled: the second body paragraph moves from economic benefits to environmental and local impacts without a clear division, and the conclusion contains conflicting statements that weaken the final progression. Some connections are also mechanical, with several points simply added rather than developed through clear referencing. Separate the counterarguments into a distinct paragraph and use the conclusion to summarise your position without introducing a new or contradictory claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “international food trade,” “foreign market,” “greenhouse gas emissions” and “local producers.” These terms help communicate relevant ideas, and attempts at more specific language are evident. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations sometimes make the writing less natural, as in “widespread phenomenal,” “more impact full,” “economic opportunities crated” and “international trader.” Phrases such as “lower grade of food categories” are also unclear for the intended meaning. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main argument, but they limit precision and flexibility. Check word forms and spelling carefully, and learn common combinations such as “a wide range of products,” “food imports” and “create employment opportunities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “whereas” and a conditional-style point about imported products being cheaper. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “it has became” has an incorrect verb form, “merits outweighs” has subject–verb disagreement, and “In past consumer are dependent” has problems with articles, number and tense. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the opening joins several clauses without clear punctuation, while “they can sell” begins a sentence without a capital letter. These are some errors that rarely obscure the overall message, but they reduce accuracy. Practise consistent tense, agreement and article use, and proofread long sentences for complete clauses and punctuation.
