Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern age, people from any country of the state can purchase food items by visiting the supermarket which is more beneficial for them. However, in several countries nowadays, customers can go to a supermarket and purchase food items made worldwidely. As far as i am concerened, it is a positive development for the people especially for foreigners.

Fisrt of all, as a large number of people are settled in other countries and they want to eat their own country's food and they prefer to buy such type of food by visiting markets nearer to their accommodations. In this way, people can survive easily on other states and can fulfil their needs more easily. Consequently, people can enjoy all types of food and can share them with others.

Secondly, it is also advantageous for the development of a country to fascilitate their inhabitants by giving them a fascility to get all the food they like. For examples, pakistani people want to eat halal foods and they can easily purchase them by visiting nearby market all over the world.Additionally, chinese can enjoy their own traditional food from markets and can buy them easily. As a result, people from any part of the world can share their food among other people and they can also promote their meals and food items in this way.

From my perspective, its a positive development that consumers from every part of the world can buy food items produced any in any country by just visiting supermarket. In this way, people can survive on other states without facing any difficulty of food and they can also share their own traditional meals with others citizens to promote their meals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider worldwide supermarket food a positive development, and you give relevant reasons, particularly that people living abroad can access familiar foods and share traditional meals. The examples of Pakistani consumers seeking halal food and Chinese consumers buying traditional food help illustrate this view. However, the response addresses the topic only partially because the benefits are repeated rather than explored in depth. For instance, the claim that people can “survive easily” abroad is not explained, and the second paragraph largely restates the first paragraph’s point about access and sharing. Develop a distinct additional benefit, such as greater consumer choice or access to seasonal produce, and explain it with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “As a result” make the intended order visible. However, progression is limited because the body paragraphs repeat similar points about access to familiar food and sharing meals, while the conclusion repeats the same ideas again. Some links are also awkward or unclear: “In this way” and “Consequently” do not always show precisely how one claim leads to the next. Organise each body paragraph around a distinct reason, then use a clear explanation or example to develop it. More precise referencing and fewer formulaic transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “traditional food,” “halal foods,” “consumers,” and “development.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive, especially “food items,” “easily,” and “share.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “worldwidely,” “fascilitate,” “fascility,” and “accommodations,” which make parts of the response less natural and may slow the reader. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe food as “produced around the world,” and use “provide access” rather than “give them a facility” when explaining what supermarkets offer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “as” and “that,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to control. For example, “as a large number of people are settled in other countries and they want to eat…” joins ideas awkwardly, while “consumers from every part of the world can buy food items produced any in any country” has an unclear sentence structure. There are also recurring errors in articles, agreement, and punctuation, such as “visiting supermarket” and the missing space after “world.” Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine related ideas using controlled subordinate clauses.
