Student answer (Band 5.5)
In modern times , the availability of food from different culture in supermarket is becoming more common. They are sometimes sold by the label of exotic food which is much more costlier than what is available in their country. I believe it is a negative development.Though, people get to taste cusines from different countries but many time it is just the processed food and it lacks the autheticate flavour of its original recepie. Moreover , it causes a negative impact on the local market and the producers of the local food. However, it can strengthen the international relationships betweeen many nations through trade.
The availability of the food from different parts of the world can have an overall negative impact on the local food market and the producers of that countries. Taking an example of a country where potatos are the grown and dishes made with it are considered staple , there if a supermarket launches a food from a different cuisine it will hamper the consumption and the supply of food which is staple to that region. Rather, supermarkets should promote the food which is produced in there own land and along with this minor attention should be given to international food.
Moreover, the masses will drawn to the idea of trying something new from their regular fooding habits, this will have adverse effect on their health as the food which present wont be as fresh as it is meant to be in their native land , there will be food preservatives which will be added to improve the shelf life of the product, this chemicals wont show any negative effect but in long term can lead to many chronic and fatal diseases. I would like to take example of the pizza's and other italian food which is consumed by people from many countries and the italian food consumed by italians themselves, the quality of pastas , pizzas and other italian cuisine which italians have is far more superior than that consumed by the rest of the world. This is because ingredients are native to their country while rest use processed ingredients which decreases the overall quality of food.
On a contrast to this , countries might can benefit from this trade exchange and it can strengthen the political relations between two countries as these trade deals can benefit the country that is exporting as the food produced here can get globalised and farmers of that can land can be benefitted.
In conclusion, I would say there are more negative aspects of this availability of ood produced all over the world in the supermarket cause it can negtaively afftect the people as well as the producers of the native land.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider the global availability of food in supermarkets a negative development, and you give relevant reasons concerning local producers and possible health effects. The examples about staple potatoes and Italian food help illustrate your concerns. You also acknowledge a counterpoint—that trade may strengthen international relations and benefit exporters—so the response addresses both sides of the question. However, some claims are not fully explained: the link between imported food and reduced local consumption is asserted rather than supported, and the health argument generalises about preservatives without evidence or qualification. Develop these points with clearer reasoning or a specific example, and explain more fully why the disadvantages outweigh the trade benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your view, body paragraphs develop local-market and health concerns, a further paragraph considers trade, and the conclusion restates your position. This gives the reader a coherent route through the argument. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. The opening uses “Though” before a sentence fragment-like contrast, while “On a contrast to this” is an awkward transition into the counterargument. The second paragraph’s potato example and recommendation about supermarkets are related, but the reasoning between them could be made more explicit. Use clearer topic sentences and link each example directly to the claim it supports; also ensure references such as “that” and “this” have unmistakable antecedents.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “availability,” “staple,” “preservatives,” “shelf life,” “chronic diseases,” and “trade exchange.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some less common terms are attempted. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the argument less precise: “different culture,” “more costlier,” “fooding habits,” and “the food which present” are examples. There are also misspellings such as “autheticate,” “recepie,” and “negtaively.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate wording—for example, “authentic flavour” and “local food producers”—and proofread spelling and plural forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “while,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “the masses will drawn” needs a correctly formed verb, and “countries might can benefit” combines modal verbs incorrectly. The sentence beginning “Taking an example of a country…” is also difficult to follow because its clause structure is incomplete, while “there will be food preservatives which will be added” is unnecessarily tangled. Some comma spacing and sentence-boundary errors further affect control. Practise building complex sentences around one clear main clause, then check verb forms and agreement.
