Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's modern time, foods from different parts of the world is becoming increasingly available to consumers. People can easily purchase a wide variety of food products in their local super market. I believe this is a positive development because it provides more food choices and allows people to enjoy products from different culture.
to begin with, one major advantage is that people can enjoy a wider variety of food. In the past, consumers mainly depended on procucts available in their local areas. However, international trade has made is easier to purchase food from different countries. For example, people in india can buy apples from the New zealand and other imported fruits in supermarkets. As a result, cosumer can try different foods and enjoy new tastes without travelling abroad.
In addition to it, another reason is that some foods are available througout the year. This is because different contries have different climates and growing season. When certain fruits or vegetables are not available in local markets, supermarkets can import them from different countries. For instance, if a particular fruit is out of season in india, shops may sell it from a country where it is currently beng harvested. Therefore, consumers have more opportunities ton buy their preffered products whenever they need them.
In conclusion, i believe that availability of food from around the world is a positive develpment. It provides consumers with more choices and make certain products available throughout the year. Although importing food may have some disadvantages, i think its benifits for consumers are significant.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability positive, and the conclusion restates that view. You address the question with two relevant reasons—greater choice and year-round access—and support them with examples, such as Indian consumers buying New Zealand apples and importing fruit when it is out of season locally. This gives the response a clear, relevant argument. To develop it further, explain the significance of the examples rather than relying mainly on general claims; for instance, clarify how year-round availability benefits consumers or households. The brief acknowledgement that importing food may have disadvantages is not developed, so the discussion is not as fully extended as it could be.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate supporting reasons, and the conclusion summarises the argument. The progression from variety to year-round availability is logical, and signposts such as “to begin with,” “In addition,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow it. Some linking is a little mechanical, particularly “In addition to it, another reason,” where a simpler transition would be more natural. There is also some repetition of the idea that consumers have more choices, especially between the introduction and conclusion. Use referencing and transitions more flexibly, and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “international trade,” “imported fruits,” “growing season,” and “out of season,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range and control are uneven: several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “different parts of the world,” “different countries,” and “different foods.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “procucts,” “cosumer,” “througout,” and “preffered,” as well as word-choice or collocation problems such as “enjoy products from different culture.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and polish. Build a wider set of accurate topic-specific expressions and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a country where it is currently being harvested” and a conditional example beginning “if a particular fruit is out of season.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors persist. For example, “foods … is becoming” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “consumers … depended on products” shifts awkwardly into the past when describing a general situation. In “It provides consumers with more choices and make certain products available,” the verbs do not agree in form. There are also article and plural issues in “from the New Zealand” and “different culture.” Check agreement, articles, and parallel verb forms, while continuing to use varied sentence structures.
