Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many countries in the world has food on the shelf of their supermakret sourced from all over the world. I believe that this development is extremely positive in terms of the world economy and humanity.
The major positive aspect of this activity is the world economy and how it gets better If the money keeps evolving. Moreover, a consumer gets to experience different kind of food while living in their own country, this specific activity brings people togather. In the United Arab Emirates, mangoes are sourced from all over the world. However, majority of people tend to like the ones sourced from Pakistan. This brings us close to the world while the sourcing makes our economy better.
On the other hand, the negative impacts are truly existing and one of the most visible one is the neglecting of our own goods. People tend to buy food and groceries that are produced in some other part of the world and ignores the ones produced in their own country. This makes their own agricultural economy much weaker then it already was. For example, all the agricultural goods are being exported out of Pakistan that is because individuals prioritize products from other countries rather than giving a chance to their own things.
In a nutshell, I believe that this is a very positive development for the world to have supermarkets containing goods from all over the world. It boosts world relations because of the trade that happens due to this particular activity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that international food availability is positive and address both benefits and drawbacks. The examples of mangoes in the UAE and agricultural exports from Pakistan are relevant, and the conclusion returns to your position. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that trade makes “the world economy” better is repeated but not explained, and the negative point about consumers neglecting local goods is not reconciled with your final positive judgement. The example about Pakistan’s exports also needs a clearer link to supermarket choices. The response is one word below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each main point with a specific explanation and make the overall argument more consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative effects, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “In a nutshell” helps readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the sentence about money “keeps evolving” does not explain how this improves the economy, and the connection between Pakistan’s exports and consumers’ preferences is difficult to follow. Some links are also repetitive, particularly the repeated references to the world economy and bringing people closer. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and ensure each example directly supports the point before moving to the next idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “sourced,” “agricultural economy,” “prioritize,” and “trade,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “money keeps evolving,” “different kind of food,” and “the neglecting of our own goods.” Spelling errors, including “supermakret” and “togather,” are noticeable, while repeated use of “world,” “food,” and “goods” limits precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main argument, but they make parts of it less natural. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing imports, local producers, consumer choice, and economic effects.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “However” and a relative clause in “goods that are produced in some other part of the world.” Nevertheless, errors occur frequently, and some sentence structures are difficult to follow. For example, “Many countries in the world has” has subject–verb disagreement, while “a consumer gets to experience different kind of food” has an article and plural-form problem. In “People tend to buy … and ignores,” the verb does not agree with its subject. The sentence beginning “For example” also joins ideas in a confusing way. Practise checking agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, and aim for accurate control before adding more complex structures.
