Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent time, it can be seen that the food made globally is available at supermarkets for users in most of the countries. In my opinion, processed food is a very positive development, because it provides variety and different taste and flavors.

Having a variety gives a consumer choice to select best food according to their interest. Some people are very selective in chosing their type of brand in food. Some people may be allergetic to their local food brands, but this issue can be solved by using various international brands. For example, some people are addicted to hamburgers and they want to try different countries hamburgers. This can be possible nowadays, because people can go and simply buy it from any supermarket irrespective of the country, in which they are.

Another interesting benefit of this development is that people can experience most of the global cultures because food is a integral part of any culture. Every country has its own special items in food. Their overall cuisine varies from others. There are a alot of people who cannot go physically to other nations and try their foods. For instance, Germany is very famous for its bread. Germany produce more than 30 types of bread and each bread is related to a special festival in their culture. Surprisingly, every bread comes with a different taste. With the help of supermarkets, one can easily buy it and try various types and experience their culture as well by staying at their local country.

In conclusion, I strongly beleive that the food produced worldwide should be available in almost every country, beacuse it gives people options to choose and also helpful in sharing cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability positive, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—consumer choice and access to other cultures—and support them with examples about hamburgers and German bread. This addresses the task, but the development is uneven. The point about people being “allergetic to their local food brands” is not clearly explained, and the hamburger example does not show how international availability specifically benefits consumers. The cultural argument is more fully illustrated, although the claim about German bread and festivals would benefit from clearer explanation. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more precisely and connect every example directly to the benefits of buying food from around the world.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate benefits, and a conclusion. The progression from consumer choice to cultural experience is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Another interesting benefit” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This can be possible nowadays” refers broadly to trying hamburgers, while the following phrase about buying them “irrespective of the country” is awkwardly connected to the point. Repeated use of “Some people” and “food” also makes the flow less flexible. Use clearer referencing and vary transitions, while making the relationship between each example and its main idea explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including topic-related terms such as “supermarkets,” “global cultures,” “cuisine,” and “festival.” There are also attempts at more specific expression, such as “selective” and “various international brands.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors limit precision: “processed food” does not accurately describe food produced worldwide, “allergetic” is misspelled, and “a alot” and “beleive” are incorrect. Phrases such as “different taste and flavors” and “special items in food” sound unnatural. Build a more accurate range of food-related expressions and check spelling and collocations; this will make your meaning clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses in “because it provides variety” and “who cannot go physically to other nations.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the paragraph structure helps the reader follow your argument. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “food is a integral part” needs the article “an,” while “Germany produce” requires subject–verb agreement (“Germany produces”). “There are a alot of people” also has an incorrect construction, and the clause “in which they are” is awkwardly placed. Review articles and agreement, and proofread longer sentences to ensure their clauses connect accurately.
