Student answer (Band 5.5)
Global food availability in supermarkets is a highly debated topic because of its benefits and drawbacks to the economic values and environmental issues. Back in old days, each indivisuals of the community has to rely on their own resources like fruites and vegetables. They have to wait for the time of each season a specific fruit or vegetable will grow.
Back in old days, each indivisuals of the community has to rely on their own resources like fruites and vegetables. They have to wait for the time of each season a specific fruit or vegetable would grow and can be utilized.
The positive impact of this era is every consumer has now access to the global foods as they can enjoy freshly cropped food, buy from the market and the food is available regardless of their specific season and consumers are happy to pay more than its value in the specific season.
On the other hand, there is a variety of negative impacts on the society and environment. the first on is the increase on each food item for the delivering it globally, the second is the emission of engine gasses that can pollute the environment and the local farmers would also suffer from the activity due to loss of their profits and can push them to bankruptcies, halting their production for the next season.
The overall explaination is that the global food items availablity has severe dominancy of negative impact over the positive impact, each indivisuals should have to think about their local farmers for the well-being of them as they are the producers and may have specific outcomes to community

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the development and make your position clear in the conclusion: you consider global food availability to have more negative than positive effects. The points about year-round access, transport emissions and pressure on local farmers are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed. For example, the benefit of buying food outside its season is stated, but its importance to consumers is not explained with a specific example. The claims that prices rise and local farmers may go bankrupt also need clearer explanation or support. The opening refers broadly to economic and environmental issues without establishing your view, so make your position clear from the start and develop fewer points with concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response moves from background to a positive point, then to disadvantages, and finally to a conclusion. However, progression is weakened by repeating the opening idea about people relying on local resources and seasonal produce almost word for word. The positive and negative points are also crowded into long sentences, while the conclusion introduces a general appeal to support farmers rather than neatly summarising the argument. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal contrast, but “the first” and “the second” make the list mechanical, and the connection between ideas is not always clear. Use distinct paragraphs for the introduction, each side, and conclusion, and give each paragraph a clear central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “global food availability,” “emission,” “local farmers,” and “production,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “negative impacts on the society and environment.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make the argument less clear, including “economic values,” “freshly cropped,” “dominancy,” and “bankruptcies.” Repeated use of “food,” “impact,” and “specific” also limits flexibility. Choose more precise collocations—for example, describe food as “freshly harvested” and transport emissions as “greenhouse-gas emissions”—and check spelling and word forms. More accurate vocabulary would make your ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often difficult to control. In “each indivisuals … has to rely,” the subject and verb do not agree; the repeated past-tense account also shifts between “has,” “have,” “would grow,” and “can be utilized.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention: the sentence beginning “the first on” runs several claims together, and the conclusion is not a complete, clearly structured sentence. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a supporting clause, and check agreement, tense consistency, articles, and capitalisation before submitting.
