Student answer (Band 4.5)
In recent years, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world become increasingly common. This development offers several benefits. From my perspectives it is positive development.
One major benefits is that if consumer can go to supermarket and buy food and reserved them for the whole year. This is mainly due to save them for their future and some bad situations. For example, In 2019 covid disease are held, proper lockdown was held all over the world and no shops had opened. So That's why many people reserved food for them. It is the best thing for the future. The situation could deteriorate at any time. Another major benefit of it is reserved food will be halped out in any situation such as flood, tsunami.
Despite these benefits it has also negative drawbacks for saved food. In recent years many people buy food for long time reservation. Fo example, if you buy food and saved them for long time it might be the dates will be expired and you used the product and after that some diseases will generate and your health will destroy.
From my perspective, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. Somehow it is positive development or negative development but the food will be reserved in a very short time due to many diseases will not be generate.
In conclusion, while it has some positive or negative aspects. The consumers should buy food relatively short time rather than long time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a positive view in the opening, but the response does not adequately address the specific development: access to food produced around the world. Most of the discussion instead concerns buying and storing food for emergencies, so the examples about lockdowns, floods and tsunamis do not explain the benefits or drawbacks of international food availability. The paragraph on expired food introduces a relevant concern about storage, but it is not clearly connected to the question. Your final position is also unclear, as you describe the development as both positive and negative before recommending short-term purchasing. The response is 228 words, below the 250-word minimum; 28 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop relevant reasons and examples, and state a consistent position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, a benefits paragraph, a drawbacks paragraph and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “One major benefits,” “Despite these benefits” and “In conclusion” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is weakened because the main discussion shifts from worldwide food availability to storing food for emergencies, and the conclusion does not resolve the conflicting position in the introduction. Some connections are unclear, particularly “Another major benefit of it is reserved food will be halped out in any situation.” Use each paragraph to develop one relevant point, make references such as “it” explicit, and ensure the conclusion follows logically from the reasons presented.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “supermarket,” “lockdown,” “flood” and “tsunami,” and attempt to express cause and consequence. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make ideas difficult to understand. For example, “reserved food” is used where “stored food” or “stockpiled food” is intended, while “health will destroy” does not express the intended consequence naturally. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “halped” and “Fo example.” Build a more precise vocabulary for the actual topic, such as food imports, availability, choice and local producers, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if you buy food,” and use time clauses such as “after that.” However, grammatical errors occur throughout and often make the intended meaning unclear. Examples include “consumers … become increasingly common,” “if consumer can go,” and “covid disease are held,” which show problems with sentence construction, articles, agreement and verb forms. The final sentence, “while it has some positive or negative aspects,” is also not a complete sentence when used as the conclusion’s opening clause. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, tense and sentence boundaries.
