Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You take a generally positive position, explaining that supermarkets save consumers time, offer a wide range of products and provide discounts. You also identify a relevant disadvantage: small grocery shops may close. These points address the question, but the discussion is only partially developed. For example, “they will save thete time” is not supported with a specific explanation or example, and the claim that supermarkets help “the develop country” is unclear and not convincingly connected to the question. Your conclusion is also difficult to identify because the response ends with a point about supermarkets reaching villages. The response is three words below the required minimum. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or relevant example, and state your overall judgement explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a recognisable overall direction: you begin with benefits, introduce the effect on small shops as a drawback, and return to consumer convenience. The contrast signalled by “but” helps show that you recognise both sides. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and several points are repeated, particularly that supermarkets provide products and that small shops will be destroyed. Connections between claims are sometimes unclear; for instance, the statement about developed countries working on supermarkets does not lead clearly into the next idea. The final reference to villages also feels added rather than developed as a concluding point. Group benefits together, give the disadvantage its own paragraph, and use clear topic sentences and a brief conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is basic but includes relevant terms such as “consumer,” “discount,” “grocery shop,” and “products,” so the reader can identify the main subject. However, the same general words recur frequently, and some word choices or spellings make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “all over product” and “they provdie us shale” do not communicate the intended ideas clearly, while “the middle man” is not explained in context. The phrase “at the point” is also vague when describing access in villages. Build a more precise range for discussing availability, affordability and local businesses, and check spelling and collocations. Replacing repeated general terms with accurate topic-specific expressions would make your argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas using clauses and contrast, as in “but main thing is that who has small grocery shop… they will be closed,” and “this is the only bad thing we will face because…”. These attempts show some effort to express relationships between ideas. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to follow, and errors in articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “first they go to on another place” has an unclear grammatical pattern, while “all devloped country are working” does not show correct agreement. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, making long stretches hard to read. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although” and “while.”
