Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is a long lasting debate between two groups from which one is said that we must purchase our local brands food to help the economy of the country and the other said that we must purchase a good quality food from the international brands. One argument is patriotic and the other one is health concious.
Firstly we discussed the point of view of those person who say that do purchase from local brands to boost social economy. The base line of their point is when we buy international products we contribute in the profits of those company and these company used this money against us in wars or also attack on our social values. For instance, we purchase a coca cola, this is a USA brand who funds israelian army against palestine so it means we fund the israelian army.
Secondly, we discussed the point of view who say that do purchase from well organized and reputated international brands. The base line of their point are quality of product, they are very health concious individuals. For instance, if they purchased a thing from a local brand and it damaged their health and put a hinder in their physical development.
In my opinion, Both have valid arguments so in this case, our local brands worked on thier products and improved their quality. If they compete the international brands on the prespective of the quality of products then automatically the economy of the local country improves.
I concluded this essay on this last line that local brands improved the quality of their product so they can grab attention from the international consumers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both local and international food brands and give a final preference for improving local products, so the response is relevant to the topic. However, the task asks whether worldwide food availability is positive or negative, and your discussion shifts mainly to brand loyalty, patriotism, and political funding rather than weighing the effects of consumers having access to food from many countries. Your position is also not fully clear: “Both have valid arguments” is followed by a recommendation about local brands, without directly stating whether the development itself is positive or negative. The examples are specific, but the health example is hypothetical and not explained. Address the question directly and develop a few relevant effects, such as choice, prices, or support for local producers.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In my opinion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, the progression is not consistently clear because the paragraphs follow a debate about buying local or international brands rather than the task’s focus on globally available food. Repeated phrases such as “the point of view” and “the base line” make the organisation feel mechanical, while references such as “these company” and “they” are not always clear. The conclusion also introduces international consumers without developing that idea earlier. Use topic sentences that directly answer the question and connect each example to the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “boost social economy,” “profits,” “quality,” and “physical development,” and the reader can generally understand the intended contrast. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “health concious,” “reputated international brands,” “a hinder,” and “grab attention from the international consumers.” Spelling errors, including “thier,” “prespective,” and “israelian,” also reduce accuracy. Some phrases are repeated, particularly “point of view” and “base line,” rather than being expressed more precisely. Build a more suitable vocabulary for the actual topic—for example, “imported produce,” “consumer choice,” and “local farmers”—and check spelling and common word partnerships.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain reasons, as in “when we buy international products we contribute in the profits of those company.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the argument difficult to follow. Examples include “one is said that,” “these company used,” “if they purchased a thing … and it damaged their health,” and “If they compete the international brands,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence construction are not controlled. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a good quality food” and “those person.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “if.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and past versus present forms.
