Student answer (Band 4.5)
In recent years, buying things has become a debated issue in our society. Now consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food. I think it is a positive development all over the world. They can purchase things according to their interest and mindset. Their insecurities can remove from this idea.
Purchasing things from a supermarket by going there is a beneficial development for the consumers. They can get useful and meaningful things by going to shops because after this they don't need to be insecure about the things. If they go to shops then they can be able to bought foods exactly according to their choice and interest. Consumers cam also be able to purchase many things which another person can't buy. If they don't go to the market by own self then they can't be able to get that type of things which suits to their mind and daily life. So buying right and necessary grocery can only be possible if they go to these places by themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a positive position, but the response does not address the central feature of the question: access to food produced in different countries. Instead, it focuses on shopping in person and choosing products, so the discussion is largely tangential. The claims that consumers can buy items “according to their choice and interest” and avoid being “insecure” are not clearly connected to international food availability, and no relevant example or developed reason is provided. The response also contains 161 words, which is 89 words below the 250-word minimum; nine words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count. To improve, explain specific benefits or drawbacks of imported food, support them with examples, and develop your position across a complete essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic paragraph structure, with an opening paragraph followed by a longer body paragraph, and the reader can identify your positive opinion. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the introduction mentions buying food, while the body shifts to the general act of visiting shops and choosing products. Repeated references to going to shops and being able to buy things do not build a connected argument. Linking phrases such as “because,” “if,” and “so” are used, but they often connect repeated or unclear points rather than guide the reader through a reasoned discussion. Organise the essay around distinct reasons related to food from around the world, and use each paragraph to explain and support one main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate a general opinion, with phrases such as “positive development,” “consumers,” and “according to their choice.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, especially “things,” “go to shops,” and “insecure.” These choices make it difficult to understand the intended point and do not express the topic of international food clearly. There are also word-choice or form errors, including “Consumers cam” and “bought foods” in “be able to bought foods.” Aim to use precise topic vocabulary, such as imported produce, food variety, local farmers, and year-round availability, and check that words fit naturally in their sentence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If they go to shops then…” and “If they don’t go to the market…”. The main meaning is usually recoverable, but control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “they can be able to bought foods” combines an incorrect verb form with an unnecessary modal construction; “Their insecurities can remove from this idea” is missing a passive verb form; and “if they go to the market by own self” has problems with the possessive construction. These errors show that complex structures are attempted but are not yet reliable. Practise modal patterns (“can buy”), passive forms (“can be removed”), and conditional sentences, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly formed verb phrase.
