Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, countries allow Buyers to go to supermarkets and purchase food produced all over the world . According to me this development should be considered positive as it offer more chocies to consumer and also increase globalization .

The key reason of this is that it offers more chocies to consumer . To exaplain it , buyer can purchase diffirent type of food from one store because of availability of food produced in different areas . It allows consumer to purchase fruits and vegetables throughout the year ,even when they are not locally in season . For example, indian people can buy italian pasta , chinese noodles and japanese food imported from other countries . This alows consumer to enjoy variety of food .

Another reason that it is positive development is globalisation. Countries can do import and export of their food products, which helps to create jobs for farmers and create income for businesses. for example if a country export wheat to another country, it may encourage farmers to grow more wheat As a result it helps to generate more income for farmer as well as country . Secondly, it allows consumers to buy better quality food products at less cost . To explicate it, companies may offer high discounts and try to enhance food quality because of high competition .

In conclusion ,i believe it is a positive development because it allows consumer to buy high quality food at low cost , increase globalisation and provide wide variety.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“this development should be considered positive”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the question with relevant reasons: greater choice, access to out-of-season produce, trade-related employment and income, and competition that may improve quality or reduce prices. The examples of imported foods and wheat exports help illustrate these points. This is a well-focused response with ideas extended and supported. To strengthen it further, develop the cause-and-effect reasoning more precisely: for instance, explain how importing food creates jobs locally, or qualify the claim that international competition leads to lower prices and better quality. Some claims, such as “increase globalisation,” are broad and would benefit from a more specific explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from consumer choice to economic benefits is easy to follow, and examples are generally placed where they support the relevant point. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion.” To make the organisation more fluent, reduce mechanical transitions such as “Another reason” and “Secondly,” and connect each example more explicitly to the claim it illustrates. Some references are also broad—for example, “it” in the final body paragraph could refer to competition, companies, or importing—so naming the subject would make the links clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “import and export,” “globalisation,” “availability,” “competition,” and “quality food products.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “chocies,” “exaplain,” “diffirent,” and “alows.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “do import and export of their food products” and “wide variety.” Repetition of “consumer,” “food,” and “positive development” further limits flexibility. Aim to learn accurate collocations and vary key terms—for example, use “trade in food products” and “a wider range of produce.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your meaning more polished and easier to process.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“because of availability…”) and a result clause (“As a result…”), and the overall meaning is usually clear. However, errors occur across sentence structures and agreement patterns. For example, “it offer” should be “it offers,” while “it allows consumer” needs a plural or article. The sentence beginning “For example, if a country export…” has a missing verb ending and runs into the following result without clear punctuation. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings and around commas. Work on subject–verb agreement, articles, and separating complete sentences; more accurate control of these basics will support your attempts at complex structures.
