Student answer (Band 5.5)
In present generation, supermarkets selling different kinds of food products which was availabe throughout the world and consumers are easily try new varities of food form their own place. Although this causes some negative impact to local poducers but there are mostly positive because it provides more options to consumers.
The main benefit of this trend is a person can have a wide range of options to select food. This is because, when a supermarket provide wide varieties of menu then people try to select different types of food to try. For example, commonly we eat indian apples regularly when supermarket also sell apples from Uk our mind will turn and we go to select that fruit because we need to try UK apple also. Therefore, imported goods will get popular and also increase business to supermarket.
However, imported goods can create a problems to local farmers because most of the people go for new varieties it causes damage to farmers investments. For example, a farmer can cultivate apple crops in this year, but most of the people like to buy imported apples instead of local apples, after few days the fruits underwent damage and just get more loss to farmers.
In conclusion, imported goods shows great impact to local porducers but positive overweigh that because its gives more options to consumers to eat food as like as they need instead of eating routuine course daily. And some seasonal fruits we did not eat after completion of season but we can get it through supermarkets through other side of world. So, we can see negative impact by this but postive development are more strong than negative.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You answer the question directly and maintain a clear view that access to international food is mainly positive, while acknowledging harm to local farmers. The consumer-choice point is supported with the example of imported UK apples, and the seasonal-fruit point in the conclusion adds a relevant reason. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the claim that imported goods increase supermarket business is asserted rather than explained, and the farmer example would be stronger with a clearer link between reduced demand and financial loss. Develop the comparison of benefits and drawbacks more explicitly, and ensure each example clearly demonstrates why the development is positive or negative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, separate body paragraphs present a benefit and a drawback, and the conclusion returns to your judgement. Connectors such as “Although,” “However,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument, and the main points generally progress logically. To make the organisation more effective, avoid relying on these signposts as the main means of connection; clarify how each example supports the preceding claim. Some references are also unclear, such as “that” in “positive overweigh that,” and the conclusion introduces seasonal fruit without developing this point earlier. More precise referencing and smoother links between sentences would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “consumers,” “local farmers,” “imported goods,” and “seasonal fruits.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response less clear or natural. Examples include “availabe,” “varities,” “poducers,” and “routuine,” as well as “wide varieties of menu” and “damage to farmers investments.” These errors sometimes require the reader to work out your intended meaning. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing natural combinations, such as “a wide variety of food” and “financial losses for farmers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although this causes some negative impact…” and a conditional example beginning “when a supermarket provide…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur across the response. For instance, “supermarkets selling” needs a finite verb, “a supermarket provide” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “it causes a problems” combines an incorrect pronoun reference with a plural noun after an article. The long final sentence also joins several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them with conjunctions and punctuation; check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly matched verb.
