Student answer (Band 5.5)

The facility of getting all eatable things across the world is now available for the citizens of many countries.People can now go to a supermarket and get all the things that they need just from one stop.I thinnk this a very positive development for the people.

Nowadays, most of countries are importing eatable things which are used in our daily life across the world for their people. Most of the supermarkets offers everything from all over the universe for the consumers that they can get jus from a supermarket without going to different shops. This positive development is facilitating the people at a high level. It helps people to save their time which they can spend on other essential tasks of life. For example, there is a famous chain of super markets in pakistan named Imtiaz it is a huge chain of supermarkets,it offers all the food products acroos the universe.People can get all types of eatable things such as,meat, fruit, vegetabels, grains and all the things which are used to eat are easily available at this supermarket,so people can get all they products from the same place innstead of going to different shops which can take their alot of time.

Supermarkets have all types of frozen items, and all season fruits and vegetabels some of them are imorted from different countries across the world.Importing and exporting of these products helps a country to boom its economic development and also play a role in forming a strong relation in trade between different countries.

Some people have belifes that things available at supermarkets are not fresh so they prefer going to different local shops to buy the things.Like this they waste their alot o time in searching of shops. And also they cannot get the same quality and prices which a supermarket offers. There is another important factor that supermarkets have all the seasonal and unseasonal products which local shops cannot offer. Most of local shops offer seasonal food products.

To conclude,I totally believe it is a positive progress that supermarkets nowadays offers all the eatable thinngs which are produced in different parts of world. It also play an crucial role in a country's economic growth by importing and exporting food products in different countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: you consider worldwide supermarket food availability a positive development, and you maintain this view in the conclusion. You address the question with relevant reasons, especially convenience and time-saving, and add a specific example through the Imtiaz supermarket chain in Pakistan. You also mention trade and economic growth, as well as the preference some consumers have for local shops. This covers the task well, but the supporting ideas are unevenly developed: the Imtiaz example is detailed, while the claim that imports strengthen international relations is asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response further, explain the effects of global food access in more depth and connect each example directly to your judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your view, body paragraphs present reasons and a counterpoint, and the conclusion restates your position. Ideas generally progress from convenience to trade and then to local-shop concerns. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated openings such as “Most of” and frequent reliance on “and also.” Some references are unclear, particularly “Like this,” which does not precisely explain how the preceding point leads to wasted time. The long Imtiaz example also combines several points in one sentence, making the progression harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, divide extended explanations into shorter units, and vary linking expressions so relationships between claims are explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “supermarkets,” “importing and exporting,” “economic development,” and “seasonal” products. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “positive development” and “strong relation in trade.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of “eatable things,” “products,” and “people,” and several choices are unnatural or imprecise: “across the universe” for worldwide, “boom its economic development,” and “all they products.” Spelling errors such as “vegetabels,” “ac roos,” and “thinngs” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range of food and trade vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations with “which” and a contrast introduced by “so.” The main meaning is usually understandable, but control is inconsistent. Subject–verb agreement errors appear in “Most of the supermarkets offers” and “It also play,” while “I thinnk this a very positive development” omits the verb “is.” There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “it is a huge chain of supermarkets,it offers,” and some sentences run together with commas instead of being separated. These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate agreement, complete clauses, and punctuation, then use complex sentences selectively and check each one for a clear grammatical structure.
