Student answer (Band 6.5)

Globalization has transformed the world into diverse interconnections which aid in joining the nations through trade and commerce worldwide. Customers prefer to purchase imported food items with an easy access to nearby grocery store or mart. I strongly believe, this trend has a positive development for individuals along with the nations as well, due to several compelling reasons.

One of the reasons for supporting this trend is the extent of convenience it brings in people's lives. An easy access to all the available imported food products is the need of the hour. Exotic and unique fruits are always in reach of our hand. Moreover, people know that only best quality food is imported worldwide so they put their full trust in international brands including imported food items. Also, in present age where health is the only thing that matters the most, people cannot rely completely on local stale food.

Furthermore, importing quality-driven food items from other countries and exporting best local food items could overall benefit and enhance trading among nations. This can further help to build stronger international relationships for a country. A country with more trading will have a stable economic growth which will help run it more appropriately as well. This ecomonic stability will result in a sustained GDP (Gross Domestic Product) along with GNH (Gross National Happiness). For instance, China and Japan have the most stable economy with the maximum overall well-being of its citizens, all due to continuous trading and consuming imported foods.

In conclusion, puchasing food that is produced worldwide from a local market in our own country is an advancement for a country's economy, citizens well-being and building trust-worthy relationships among nations worldwide.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability a positive development, and the conclusion returns to this view. You address both personal benefits, such as convenience and access to unfamiliar produce, and national benefits through trade. This covers the task well, but the support is uneven. The claim that imported food is always the best quality and the contrast with “local stale food” are broad and insufficiently explained. The China and Japan example also asserts a link between food imports, economic stability and well-being without showing how one leads to the other. To strengthen the response, explain these links with specific, credible examples and develop the consumer benefits as fully as the economic argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. The progression from convenience for consumers to trade between nations is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. To make the organisation more effective, ensure each paragraph develops one central claim rather than adding loosely connected points. For example, the first body paragraph moves from convenience to imported quality and then to health without clearly explaining the links. The economic paragraph also shifts from trade to GDP and GNH, then to China and Japan. Use clearer explanation and references between these points, and rely less on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including terms such as “imported food products,” “international relationships,” “economic growth” and “Gross Domestic Product.” There are also attempts at more formal or less common phrasing, such as “compelling reasons” and “sustained GDP.” However, some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “diverse interconnections” is unclear in this context, “reach of our hand” is not idiomatic, and “local stale food” makes an unsupported and awkward contrast. Spelling slips such as “ecomonic” and “puchasing” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and precise wording, and proofread carefully so that ambitious vocabulary communicates your meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which will help run it more appropriately” and a conditional-style construction beginning “A country with more trading…”. Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “with an easy access” uses an unnecessary article, and “I strongly believe, this trend” has incorrect punctuation between the reporting phrase and the clause. In “people know that only best quality food is imported,” the article is missing before “best quality.” The final sentence also has an awkward grammatical structure around “is an advancement for… and building…”. Work on articles, clause punctuation and parallel sentence structures, while continuing to use complex forms.
