Student answer (Band 6.0)

Recently, people can purchase food from the stores in my countries. This trend is increasing due to the busy schedules of customers. I believe this is a negative development because people eat processed food which is not good for health and it also affects the economy of importing country.

Healthy and fresh food is very essential for the human body. If someone eats food which is processed might not fulfil the daily nutritional requirments of his body. Processed food have low proteins and energy supplements as compared to fresh food. For instance, individuals who live abroad and have no time for cooking, they buy prepared meals which are not beneficial at most of the times. Furthermore, it may cause digestive problems if someone accidently eat undercooked meat. Therefore, one should buy ingredients from the grocery store and try to make fresh meal at kitchen.

The economy of countries depends on their agricultural revenue. As nowadays, many countries are importing food from neighbour countries, it is indicating that farmers of importing country are suffering. Additionally, They are giving extra money from the exporting country to purchase food. In that way, inflation is rising in importing countries. For instance, the USA imports vegetables and fruits from the Asian countries has high rates of these products in their stores. That's why, countries should invest more on its agricultural sector.

To conclude, I think this is a downside development not just for the health of customers as well as for the economy of importing country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you consider worldwide food availability negative, mainly because of health risks and effects on the importing country’s economy. Both reasons are relevant, and you support them with examples such as prepared meals for people living abroad and imported produce in the USA. This covers the task and gives the reader a clear line of argument. However, the health discussion shifts from internationally available food to processed meals generally, and the claim that imports cause inflation is asserted rather than explained. The USA example also needs clearer evidence or qualification. To strengthen the response, connect each point directly to food being sourced globally and develop the cause-and-effect reasoning more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing words such as “Furthermore,” “Additionally,” and “Therefore” help signal relationships between ideas. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some links, however, are mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. For example, “Additionally” introduces a consequence of importing food, while “Therefore” moves from health risks to advice without fully connecting the advice to the essay’s central issue. References such as “it” in “it is indicating” are also unclear. Use transitions selectively and make the subject of pronouns explicit so the connections between claims and examples are easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “processed food,” “nutritional requirements,” “agricultural revenue,” and “inflation.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “invest more on its agricultural sector.” However, several noticeable word-choice and collocation problems make parts of the argument less natural: “in my countries,” “energy supplements,” “extra money from the exporting country,” and “downside development.” Spelling errors such as “requirm ents” (written as “requirments”) and “accidently” also reduce accuracy. Build precision by learning common word partnerships for trade, nutrition, and economic effects, and check spelling carefully. A broader, more natural range would make your points clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If someone eats food which is processed…” and a subordinate clause beginning “because.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Processed food have” should use a singular verb, and “if someone accidently eat” needs a matching verb form. The sentence “the USA imports vegetables and fruits from the Asian countries has high rates” combines clauses without a clear grammatical link. The conclusion’s “not just … as well as” construction is also faulty. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building complete clauses, especially when combining examples and explanations; this will improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex sentences.
