Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, globalisation has made possible to get everything around the world, therefore, imported products are available to communtity as they are seen in our supermarkets. However, few people believe that this has negative effects along with positives. In my opinion, this is beneficial if a balance is maintained by the authorities by keeping in mind the value of the local products.
To begin with, availability of foreign products has made people's lives easier as they do not have to wait to visit the other country to purchase the required product from that specific country. Moreover, this facilitates people so they do not have to move out from their home country. To illustrate, folks can taste different international dishes by staying in home country as receipes are provided on the internet. Furthermore, individuals can experience different cultures owing to their item's availability.
On the other side of the edge, promotion of foreign products affects negatively to local product's sales as people do not buy them, local industries face loss, hence, this leads to economical loss of a nation. A country's culture fades away if people focus on buying international products all the time, consequently leading to forget national values which are invaluable to society. In addition, these products are expensive resulting a common man to go out of budget as their prices are combined with heavy custom duty.
In a nutshell, I would like to argue that where the sales of local products is indispensable for a nation to grow, the importance to ensure availability of international items is also needed. I, therefore believe that a combined approach should be followed by authorities by enforcing a balance between products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you consider access to international food beneficial when balanced with support for local products. You address both advantages and disadvantages, with relevant points about convenience, cultural exposure, pressure on local industries, and affordability. This meets the task well, and the conclusion returns to your balanced view. To make the response more fully developed, explain the examples and consequences in greater depth. For instance, the point about tasting international dishes through recipes does not directly show the benefit of buying imported food in supermarkets. The claims that national culture may fade and imported goods are expensive would also be stronger with a specific example or clearer explanation of when these effects occur.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. The progression from convenience to cultural exposure, then to local economic and cultural concerns, is easy to follow. You also use a range of linking expressions, including “Moreover,” “To illustrate,” and “In addition.” Some connections are less precise or feel mechanical, however. “On the other side of the edge” is not a natural transition, and “therefore” in the opening joins ideas that would be clearer as separate sentences. The conclusion repeats the balance idea without synthesising the main reasons. Use simpler, accurate transitions and make each paragraph’s internal links show how one point leads to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “local industries,” “custom duty,” and “national values.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “facilitates people,” “economical loss,” and “importance to ensure availability.” There are also spelling errors, including “communtity” and “receipes.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Aim to learn vocabulary in common combinations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe how imported goods “affect local sales” and how they may cause “economic losses” rather than translating phrases directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “as,” “if,” and “owing to,” as well as cause-and-effect structures. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening needs a subject and article in “globalisation has made possible to get everything”; a clearer form is “globalisation has made it possible to obtain products from around the world.” Other examples include “affects negatively to local product’s sales,” “resulting a common man,” and the agreement error “the sales … is indispensable.” Punctuation also needs attention, particularly the comma splice in the first sentence. Practise accurate clause construction, subject–verb agreement, articles, and prepositions while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
