Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years Customer to find any type of food in the super market has became a matter of considerable debate. While some people contend that finding food which is produced all over the world is a a positive indicator, other maintain that sometimes it can consider as a drawback. Although there are valid arguments on both sides. I firmly believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

On the one hand, those who support the idea that finding any kind of food regardless where it was made argue that this can have bad impact on the local food products which are produced inside the country. Consequently, this can affect the local factories and the national economy negatively. A case in point is the Chinese noddle's which significantly invade the markets of the United Status. Thus it is understandable why some persons hold this view.

On the other hand, it can also be a strength. In other words, the global products can be the window which other population use to know different cultures. As a direct consequence, Individuals will have the willing to be familiar and open to other nations attitudes and behaviours. This is can be demonstrated by the famous Egyptian food dish AlKoshary which became a wild known tradition activity for the tourists when they visit Egypt.

In conclusion, Despite the fact that global food to be avalible all over the world can have a downside , i believe that it also could be a positive point. It is therefore crucial for countries to maintain the balance between these 2 point of views.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear overall view: “the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.” The discussion of possible harm to local producers is relevant, as is your point that imported food can introduce people to other cultures. However, the position becomes less definite in the conclusion, where you say global food “could be a positive point” and call for balance without explaining how this supports your view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The examples—the Chinese noodles in the US and Egyptian koshary for tourists—are relevant but need clearer explanation and support. Develop the comparison by explaining why cultural exposure or consumer choice is more significant than the economic risk to local producers.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for opposing views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in perspective, and the ideas generally remain connected to the topic. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the link between imported food, cultural understanding, and people becoming open to other nations is asserted rather than explained. The conclusion also introduces “maintain the balance” without showing how this follows from the stated preference for the advantages. Some linking phrases, such as “As a direct consequence,” imply a stronger cause-and-effect relationship than the argument establishes. Make each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence and use references and transitions more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “local food products,” “national economy,” “cultures,” and “attitudes and behaviours.” Phrases such as “a matter of considerable debate” also show an attempt to use more formal language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “finding any type of food,” “bad impact,” “the willing,” and “wild known tradition activity.” Spelling and form errors such as “noddle's,” “avalible,” and “super market” also reduce precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they make parts of the argument awkward. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “Although there are valid arguments on both sides” and a relative clause in “which are produced inside the country.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Customer to find … has became” has problems with the subject, verb form, and tense; “other maintain” lacks agreement; and “This is can be demonstrated” uses an incorrect verb construction. The opening “Although…” clause is also left as a sentence fragment. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and correctly formed verb, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
