Student answer (Band 5.5)
In much countries today, buyers can go to a supermarket and purchase food manufactured all over the world i partially agree with this because "Although there are some drawbacks, I believe this development is mainly positive."
Nowadays people are really attracted to trying different countries culture and food. how ever it is a good thought as it helps the connectivity of different countires as it is helpful for trade between the countires it validates in building good relationship amoung both countries which will help in economic growth. for example people love the pizza and speghetti which are originated from italy but is famous world wide for its taste. its good because people can eat varaities of food produced in other counties buying it from supermarket as not all of them can afford the cost of going to the country and eating the food there.
However, it is also not good for development because people forget there own countries food and culture and it is also bad for the countries growth and GDP as it may effect local farmers and vendors as it may result in loss to them for example people nowadays prefer pizza, burger, noodles as it easy to make and eat when in urgency and forgot making authentic food of there own. nowadays the food only is eaten during festivals.
In conclusion i state that It is good to buy goods produced from other countries as it is tasty and helps to know the culture of the particular country and helps people tatse varities of dishes from across the country in one place which is much more affordable than visiting places to eat it. but also you should never give up on your country products

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the availability of international food is mainly positive, while acknowledging drawbacks. The discussion of cultural exchange, trade and affordability is relevant, and the examples of Italian food and local farmers help illustrate both sides. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening says “I partially agree,” while the conclusion calls the development good, so the reader is left unsure how strongly you support it. Some points also need fuller explanation. For instance, you claim imported food harms GDP and local vendors, but do not explain the link or provide a specific example. Develop fewer ideas more clearly and state your position consistently from the introduction through to the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a conclusion. “However” signals the shift to the opposing view, and examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. Nevertheless, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are joined together without clear relationships. The first body paragraph moves from cultural interest to trade, economic growth, Italian food and affordability in quick succession. The conclusion also repeats several earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main idea, and make links between claims explicit. More precise referencing would also help readers follow what “it” and “this” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “connectivity,” “economic growth,” “local farmers,” “vendors” and “authentic food.” These choices show an attempt to discuss cultural and economic effects, but the overall range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For example, “food manufactured” is not a natural way to describe most food, and “helps the connectivity” is an awkward collocation. Repeated use of “good,” “food” and “country” also limits precision. Spelling errors such as “varaities,” “countires” and “speghetti” are noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrastive structure beginning “Although there are some drawbacks,” and clauses explaining reasons and examples. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “people forget there own countries food” has problems with possessive forms and sentence structure, while “pizza and speghetti … is famous” shows a subject–verb agreement error. There are also inconsistent capital letters and punctuation, including the lower-case “i” and sentence boundaries that run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached reason or example, then check agreement, articles, possessives and punctuation before submitting.
