Student answer (Band 4.0)

Nowdays, consumers are going to supermarket buy grocery. In many country, people are prefered to go supermarket and buy food because, they did not have a much time for cooking food for own self yet In other country, there some people how have much time for themself and for there family they can cooked food for them. From my perspective it is positive development becausepeople did not have much time for cooking so, if they consued process food was same there time.

In my opinion, Engaged country people who was very commited to there work life. they did not have much time even for for them self so they perefered go to supermarket and buy produced food for themself yet, it was not good for health to eat market food because of many strees life people often cook for ownself Moverover, people who has busy schedule and stess life they prefered buy food from supermarket.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a position—“it is positive development”—and connect supermarket food with the time pressures of working people, which is relevant to the topic. However, the response does not clearly address the key issue of food produced all over the world; it focuses mainly on buying food from supermarkets and convenience foods. The argument is also incomplete: you briefly mention health concerns and begin a contrasting point with “the different side was a negati…” but do not explain or conclude it. The response is substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough development, explanation, or relevant example to support your view. To strengthen the answer, discuss benefits and drawbacks of international food availability and explain which side you consider more important.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into paragraphs, and linking expressions such as “In my opinion” and “Furthermore” show an effort to guide the reader. However, the progression is difficult to follow because ideas repeat or shift without clear explanation. For example, the first paragraph moves from limited cooking time to people who have more time, then returns to convenience; the second repeats the busy-schedule point and introduces health concerns without resolving them. The final paragraph is unfinished, so the response has no clear conclusion. Some connections, including “yet” and “Moverover,” do not make the relationship between ideas clear. Plan a simple structure—position, two developed reasons, and a conclusion—and use linking words only where their meaning fits.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “supermarket,” “cooking,” “health,” “busy schedule,” and “work life,” so the general subject can be recognised. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly references to having little time and buying food. Spelling and word-choice errors also make parts difficult to understand, such as “consued process food” and “Engaged country people.” Some expressions are not natural in this context, including “market food” and “for ownself.” Build a more precise set of topic words for global food availability, such as imported products, food choices, convenience, and local producers. Check spelling and learn common collocations so your ideas are expressed more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “In my opinion…” followed by an explanation of why busy people shop at supermarkets. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to control, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries frequently obscure meaning. Examples include “people are prefered,” “they can cooked food,” and “people who has busy schedule.” The opening also joins several ideas with commas and “yet” without clear sentence boundaries, while the final sentence is unfinished. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using patterns such as “because people have limited time” or “although imported food offers more choice.” Careful proofreading for subject–verb agreement and complete sentences would improve clarity.
