Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, people from most of the part of the world can go to the supermarkets for purchasing their daily consumable goods. I believe that this is a positive development because it offers people with variety of choises and increase tax revenue in the country.
One of the benefit is the variety of choises. Nowdays, people wants to try different foods from different countries as they may live abroad or incluenced by food in social media which can not be fulfilled by small grocery stores and local markets. Supermarket offers them good number of choices and saves time as all the iems can be found in a single place. For instance, international students living abroad can buy their local food from a single store which saves their their time and provide them good range of choices.
Moreover, supermarket helps country with tax revenue. The supermarket sells large number of international goods which will increase the tax revenue and boost the countries' economy. Also, large number of local people can work in the supermarket which will help them to earn for living and also boost the local economy of that area. For example, Bhatbhateni offers jobs to large number people in nepal and pays good amount of tax to the government becoming one of the largest tax paying company in Nepal.
In conclusion, although, supermaket dominant the local production and makes competitive market for small stores, their advantages can not be ignored. Because of all the mentioned reasons I think popularity of supermarket is a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider access to international food a positive development, and the conclusion maintains this view while acknowledging possible harm to local producers and small shops. The two main reasons—greater choice and economic benefits—are relevant and supported with examples, including international students and Bhatbhateni in Nepal. This gives the response a clear, developed argument. However, the economic point is somewhat over-generalised: the link between selling imported goods and increasing tax revenue is asserted rather than explained, and the employment example mainly concerns supermarket jobs rather than the availability of food from around the world. Develop these links more precisely and explain the acknowledged disadvantage before dismissing it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Topic sentences such as “One of the benefit is the variety of choises” and “Moreover, supermarket helps country with tax revenue” make the paragraph purposes easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion.” This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in linking ideas. To strengthen progression, make the relationship between claims and examples more explicit, and avoid mechanical transitions. The final paragraph introduces the effect on local production and small stores, but this point is not developed earlier, so its placement feels abrupt.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “international goods,” “tax revenue,” “local markets,” and “competitive market.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “choises,” “Nowdays,” “items” misspelled as “iems,” and “supermaket” are examples. Phrases such as “daily consumable goods” and “good number of choices” are understandable but not natural in this context. Repetition of “large number” and “boost” also limits flexibility. Build a bank of accurate collocations for food retail and economic effects, and proofread spelling and word forms so the reader can focus on your argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause in “which can not be fulfilled by small grocery stores.” The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, “One of the benefit” should be “One of the benefits,” “people wants” should be “people want,” and “Supermarket offers” needs an article or plural subject. In “although, supermaket dominant the local production,” the clause is not grammatically complete; a form such as “although supermarkets may dominate local production” would work. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building complete clauses, especially in longer sentences.
