Student answer (Band 5.0)
In a lot of countries these days, buyers can go to a supermart and purchase food made all over the world. This is the common practice in many countries, people like to buy things they eat often, do grocery of their own and also with friends. This is a good aspect of any country because it shows the development of the country and nation. Ofcourse, this is a positive development.
The reason is, in past people used to make list of items and they walked from shop to shop to buy different kind of goods e.g., eggs, milk, flour, vegetables and snacks. supermarkets made the things very easier, now people just walk in the market and buy the food of their own choices. Things are often present on shelves so they just go from shelf to shelf and pick the food they like to eat.
I also experienced this many times, I do not need to make a list of food items like my mother did in her time. For example if i need some vegetables to cook so, i will go to the supermarket and see the vegetables of my choice. If i feel these vegetables look fresh and are under my budget then will purchase it otherwise will see the other options.
In the conclusion, I want to say supermarkets made our lives much easier. It has lessen the pain of roaming from one place to another isn search of food. Now we prioritize our choices and explore more food items that are presented in supermarket.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you state that access to internationally produced food is positive, and you give a personal example involving choosing vegetables according to freshness and price. However, the response only minimally addresses the specific development in the question. Most of the explanation concerns supermarkets making shopping easier and offering choice, rather than the benefits or drawbacks of being able to buy food from around the world. The opening also makes broad claims about national development without explaining them. To develop the response more fully, explain specific effects of global food availability—for example, access to seasonal produce, greater variety, or possible impacts on local producers—and support these points with relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order. The personal shopping example also gives the third paragraph a clear focus. However, progression is limited because the body paragraphs repeat the general point that supermarkets make shopping easier, rather than developing distinct reasons about international food. Some links are awkward or unclear: “The reason is, in past…” does not connect smoothly to the stated position, while “In the conclusion” is a mechanical transition. The opening sentence also runs several ideas together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each paragraph directly to a separate reason supporting your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough everyday vocabulary to communicate the general idea, including “purchase,” “shelves,” “fresh,” “budget” and “choices.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, which makes the response less clear and less suited to the topic. For example, “supermart” is not the usual term, “do grocery of their own” is awkward, and “lessen the pain of roaming” is an unnatural collocation. The vocabulary also focuses on shopping generally rather than global food availability. Build a more precise topic vocabulary, such as “imported produce,” “food variety,” “seasonal products” and “local farmers,” and check spelling and word forms, including “Ofcourse” and “isn.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main meaning, but the response relies heavily on simple sentence patterns, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty. For instance, “This is the common practice in many countries, people like to buy…” joins two independent clauses with only a comma. There are also recurring errors in articles, agreement and verb forms: “different kind of goods,” “supermarkets made the things very easier,” and “then will purchase it.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “i” and the comma after “The reason is.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall message remains understandable. Practise accurate sentence boundaries and vary sentence structures while checking agreement, articles and complete verb phrases.
