Student answer (Band 5.5)

In modern world, people can easily buy food from all over the world. From my point of view, this development has positive development in a country, but it also has some drawbacks which is not good for our community.

one of the main advantage of the developmennt is that people can easily get a wide range of variety throught the year. For example, people can buy unseasonal food, imported cheese or others fruits which is not avvailbale in our local market all these thing can easily buy from other country. This gives consumer proper and balance diet which has directly effect on their consumer health. Additionally, people are becoming tension free to preserved their food items to use in the future months when season of those foods are gone. As a result, people can buy and take a good advantage from the imports.

However, this trends also has some drawbacks. Firstly, imported foods are very expensive because of Trarif and transport cost and also inconvenient for middle class people. Secondly, its also effect on the agriculture sector because when the demand of imported foods are increased its also indirectly impact on the demands of farmers products will reduced. Moreover, the long travel distance can increase carbon emission which creates air pollution and also foods become rotten. Consequently, the health of the citizens become weaker and most of the peiople are suffered from the many disesases because of these food.

To sum up, people can buy food from all of the different countries. I believe that this is the positive development because food is convenient for the consumers within all seasons but it also effect on consumers health and budget.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the question by presenting both benefits and drawbacks, then state a clear overall view: access to imported food is positive because it offers convenience and choice throughout the year. Relevant support includes examples such as imported cheese and out-of-season fruit, alongside concerns about cost, effects on farmers, and emissions. This covers the main parts of the task. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the claim that imported food provides a “proper and balance diet” needs clearer reasoning, and the health argument about food becoming rotten and causing disease is not convincingly supported. Develop fewer claims with specific explanations or examples, and make the relationship between your supporting points and your final positive judgement more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “For example,” “Additionally,” “However,” and “To sum up” helps readers follow the main direction, and the contrast between benefits and drawbacks is clear. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger progression. At times, however, links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For instance, the sentence about preserving food does not clearly follow from the point about imported products, and “Consequently” introduces a health claim whose cause is not established. Use clearer referencing and explain the logical connection between each claim, rather than relying mainly on transition words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “imported foods,” “agriculture sector,” “transport cost,” and “carbon emission.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “unseasonal food” and “middle class people.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read, including “developmennt,” “avvailbale,” “Tararif,” and “suffered from the many disesases.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “wide range of variety” and “take a good advantage.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural word partnerships, for example “a wide variety” and “benefit from imports.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “which.” This allows you to express reasons and consequences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent: agreement and verb forms are often inaccurate, as in “this trends … has,” “the demand … are increased,” and “the demands … will reduced.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention; for example, “In modern world” lacks an article, while the long example sentence beginning “For example, people can buy…” runs several ideas together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns, then proofread punctuation so complex ideas remain clear.
