Student answer (Band 5.5)

An increasing number of consumers now go to supermarket and purchase food produced all over the world. This becomes common in most countries. This essay will examine the main positive and negative developments. In my opinion, the positive points are clearly greater.

The first positive point is that it gives people to explore the food of different nations without visiting their. This is because most people wants to taste every countries local food which is difficult for them to visit that country and taste their local food due to money. For instance, one of my friend wants to eat korean food but she do not able to go korean just for food so, she monthly visit supermarket to buy korean food.A second positive point is that in suparmarkets has different nations food avaliable in one roof so helps to save consumers time and effects. In particular, If consumer wants to eat spainsh and italian food in the same time so they can buy both countries food in single shop. These benefits give advantage to both consumers and seller.

The negative points are first, the food of different countries is expensive to afford. In particular, the supermarkets are selling food in very high price because they know that people have so many diffcualites to buy food that they likes and also the producation cost of the food are also high so, supermarkets cover the production cost from consumer's.Second points is that most of the time they use expaire ingredies to cook food. This can have a significant effect on humans body. Also, some food are ready to make which has lot of harmfull thigs are in the food.

To sum up, there are reasonable arguments on both sides of this issue. However, I believe that consumers can go to a supermarkets and buy food is the more apporopriate view. This is largely due to people explore food of different countries in one roof and same lot f time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall preference for the positive side, stating that “the positive points are clearly greater,” and you discuss benefits and drawbacks relevant to international food in supermarkets. The examples about trying Korean food and buying Spanish and Italian products help illustrate convenience and access. However, the response does not fully develop its position: the benefits are asserted rather than explained in depth, and the negative claims about high prices and expired ingredients are broad and not supported with specific reasoning or evidence. The conclusion also repeats the main benefit without resolving the comparison between the two sides. Develop fewer points more fully and explain why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative points, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “The first positive point,” “The negative points,” and “To sum up” helps readers identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some ideas are joined mechanically or unclearly. For example, “A second positive point is that in suparmarkets has different nations food available in one roof so helps to save consumers time and effects” is difficult to follow, while the example that follows is run directly into the preceding sentence. Use clearer topic sentences, separate examples with appropriate punctuation, and make links between each claim and its explanation more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “consumers,” “production cost,” “supermarkets,” and “local food,” and you attempt phrases such as “significant effect.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main subject, but the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “save consumers time and effects,” “food of different countries in one roof,” and “the more appropriate view.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “suparmarkets,” “avaliable,” “diffcualites,” and “expaire.” Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing access, affordability, and food safety, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including explanations with “because” and a conditional example beginning “If consumer wants…”. However, the range is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to read. For instance, “most people wants” has subject–verb disagreement, “she do not able” is missing an appropriate auxiliary structure, and “in supermarkets has” lacks a clear subject. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “go to a supermarkets” and the run-on transition into “A second positive point.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
