Student answer (Band 4.5)
In Many countries nowadays consumers go to supermarket to buy food its very beneficial for them for example
- they can see the actual quality of food before purchasing
- they will see the actual price of the food
- if they will find the best quality then they will purchase more quantity
- if they will found something wrong or bad quality they will never purchase from super market
its a very positive development for all of them to make sure that they pay they actually price and quality of food is good also their not alot of work out to go and find the food items from supermarket
in my opinion for those who ordered food from home they found most of the time really bad or average quality of food
before something i saw some peoples who orderd a food from home and they found such a average quality of food also they riders expenses also they just pay twis amount of price to pay

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a clear positive view, and the points about checking food quality and prices are relevant to the topic. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain in a developed way why access to food from around the world is beneficial, and it shifts towards comparing supermarket shopping with home delivery. The examples about people receiving average-quality food and paying extra for riders are not clearly connected to the international availability of food. The response also contains 168 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250. To strengthen your answer, explain the effects of imported food—for example, greater choice or access to seasonal products—and support each point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a recognisable overall direction: it begins with reasons for shopping in supermarkets and ends by reinforcing a positive opinion. The list format also makes some individual points easy to identify. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the progression from checking quality and prices to home delivery is abrupt. Connections between points are often missing, while repeated conditional statements beginning with “if” make the response feel like a list rather than a developed argument. Use an introduction, separate body paragraphs for distinct reasons, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “For instance” can help show how each example supports your main position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to shopping and food, including “quality,” “price,” “purchasing,” and “supermarket,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “food,” “quality,” and “purchase.” Some expressions are unclear or unnatural, such as “they pay they actually price” and “they riders expenses,” which make parts of the argument difficult to follow. Aim for more precise vocabulary and natural collocations, such as “compare prices,” “inspect the produce,” and “delivery charges.” Check spelling and word forms as well, including “ordered” and “twice,” so errors do not distract from your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and conditions, including “if they will find the best quality,” and you use some longer sentences to connect ideas. However, sentence structures are very limited overall, and frequent errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and punctuation sometimes obscure meaning. For example, “if they will found” has an incorrect verb form, while “go to supermarket” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “its a very positive development” also runs several ideas together without clear sentence boundaries. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with structures such as “because” and “although.” Use full stops to separate complete ideas and check subject–verb agreement and verb tense.
