Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, individuals can buy food produced by their country and abroads from supermarkets. I think this a positive development since it enables the locals to taste various foods from almost every part of the world and also helps in the development of a country's economy through importing and exporting.
There are many people who cannot afford or does not prefer not to travel the world and try various cuisines. If these foods are available in their supermarkets, they can easily purchase it even if it is expensive. It also enables them to know about other cuisines' preferrences on meals, spices, and cooking. People who get to know about various cuisines but does not want to travel, becomes relieved when they see those foods in a local supermarket. In Bangladesh, for instance, Unimarket sells food from various countries and have a higher sell rate on the imported foods.
Moreover, availing abroad foods to the locals is also benefical for businessmen and the country. Importing foods from various cuisines improve the trade and commerce through the money exchanged among a foreign dealership and a local business company. The foreign company can sell their foods in higher price, which helps them, and also the locals can sell their native foods to the foreign countries with higher values. Local businesses sell these expensive imported foods with more value to the local supermarkets. For example, many local businesses in Japan have admitted that they earn more by exporting their instant ramen all over the world. Thus, this helps in the economical growth of a country.
In conclusion, it is more beneficial to provide foods from various countries across the world in a supermarket. This action helps many people to try foods from abroad and also develops a country's economy through the import and export.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability positive, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—access to international cuisines and benefits to trade. The Bangladesh supermarket and Japanese ramen examples help make the discussion concrete. However, the economic argument is not always clearly explained: the paragraph moves between importing, exporting, and local resale without showing precisely how each benefits the country. The point about people learning other cuisines’ preferences is also less fully developed than the main access argument. To strengthen the response, explain the cause-and-effect links more carefully and support each example with a specific detail that directly demonstrates your claim.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two reason-based body paragraphs, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are repetitive or not fully clear. In the first body paragraph, the ideas about people who do not travel and those who do not want to travel overlap, while “It also enables them” has an unclear reference. The economic paragraph shifts between the benefits to foreign companies, local businesses, and the country. Group related points more tightly and use clearer references so the progression feels less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “cuisines,” “importing and exporting,” “trade and commerce,” and “economical growth.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common terms show an effort to discuss the topic precisely. However, several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “abroads,” “preferrences,” “higher sell rate,” and “availing abroad foods.” “Economical growth” is also less suitable than the standard expression for a country’s development. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Focus on common collocations for trade and food, and check spelling and word forms when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional clause (“If these foods are available…”) and a relative clause (“which helps them”). The overall meaning remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction limit accuracy. For example, “There are many people who cannot afford or does not prefer” mixes plural and singular forms, and “People … does not want to travel, becomes relieved” has agreement and punctuation problems. The opening also needs a verb in “I think this a positive development.” Review subject–verb agreement and make sure clauses are joined and punctuated correctly. More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve control.
