Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays in many countries, food cultivated all over the world is buying by the individuals in a supermarket. the service of supermarket is very covenient for the peoples. Overall, the servic has its benefits but also the drawbacks of this development.
Firstly, the most important benefit is that we dont have to travel to miles cities apart or places to get a specific fruit or vegetables the supermarkets provided that without any incovinience. Also that the markets packaging of things is quite premium that we dont have any difficulty to cary or to mannage the things. For instance, I want some fresh apples i dont have to go to garden to get them from trees I can have them just at the supermarket that is near my town.
Secondly, the side affects of buying at the markets is that some things got expired or rotten too early and the owners or employess at markets dont regularly check them which in result the consumer buy them and have a lost of money and wastage of food in last. Also that the workers preserved the food by applying different pesticides or other materials so that the things remain fresh which in result cause health issues in individuals. Like, i buy some strawberries and i wanted to them instantly buit cannot beacuse I have to wash them before eating.
In my opinion it has both the positive and negative effects it is very convenient for people to buy things and also cheaper as they can save fuel and travel expenses. Also there is no much hard work is needed as plucking or cultivating by themselves. The negative side is food donot remain that fresh as in the original places. The basic of gardenings or cultivating cannot be learned by the peoples and then in future they needed a helper for that.
In conclusion to this is that both buying at supermarket and produced food by themselves are essential and that these development are good and bad on both points.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both advantages and disadvantages and give a personal view, so the response is relevant to the question. Convenience, reduced travel costs, food quality and possible health concerns are all pertinent points. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says the development has benefits and drawbacks, while the conclusion calls both supermarket buying and self-production essential without clearly deciding whether access to global food is positive or negative overall. Several ideas also need fuller explanation. For example, the claim that food is less fresh “as in the original places” is not supported with a clear reason or example, and the gardening point shifts away from the main question. State your overall judgement directly and develop two or three relevant reasons with specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. “Firstly” and “Secondly” help signal the main sections, and examples are placed near the points they illustrate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, such as “Also that” and repeated uses of “which in result.” The final paragraph introduces fuel savings and gardening skills without clearly connecting them to the earlier discussion, while the conclusion repeats the two-sided view rather than resolving it. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and use a wider range of accurate transitions and referencing to make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “convenient,” “pesticides,” “consumer,” “cultivating” and “travel expenses.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both practical and health-related effects. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations and spellings make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “travel to miles cities apart,” “the markets packaging,” “have a lost of money,” and “the basic of gardenings.” Repetition of general terms such as “things,” “markets” and “effects” also limits precision. Aim to use more exact phrases for food quality, international availability and environmental or health impacts, and check spelling and word forms carefully. The suggestions below offer practical alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including clauses introduced by “which” and “as,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “food cultivated all over the world is buying” has an incorrect passive verb form, while “the consumer buy them” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence construction, as in “there is no much hard work is needed.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase sentence openings and the run-on structure in the final paragraph. Build accuracy first with clear subject–verb patterns, then combine ideas using correctly formed subordinate clauses.
