Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is acknowledged that in contempraroy world custmers prefer to shop global food due to access of internation food in different countries. I strongly agree that it is a positive trend because it gives consumers more choices and beneficial for economical growth.

To begin with, the greatest advantage of global food products is that it increases the variety of food. Therefore, customers have different options to chose. As a result, they do not feel bore eating same food and enjoy variation in food stuff everyday. For example, when we eat same food on daily bases we get bore and there nutrietional value is also same However, variety of food gives us different taste with different nutrients and we enjoy to eat.

Another benefit of purchasing global food is that it assist to grow our economy by increasing import and export of food products as well as creates more jobs for employees. For intance, in my country, pizza is a famous italian food, people buy it from resturants or make it at home so, demand for ingrediants of pizza is so high in supermarkets.

On the other hand, some people argue that it is a negative development because it decreases the worth of local food which affcets our local food business due to which small businessmen surffer. Despite of this the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

To conclude, I largely agree that purchasing of global food is a positive trend because it brings variety in food and helpful for economical growth. Moreover, creates jobs for individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You give a clear, consistent view that access to international food is positive, and you address both benefits and a drawback. The points about greater food choice and economic activity are relevant, with the pizza example helping illustrate demand for imported ingredients. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: the link between food imports and broader economic growth or job creation needs clearer support, and the claim that varied foods provide different nutrients is not developed. The opposing view about harm to local businesses is acknowledged, but its effects are only briefly described. To strengthen the response, explain each main point through a clearer cause-and-effect chain and use a specific example to support the economic argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting benefits, a paragraph acknowledging a drawback, and a conclusion. The progression from variety to economic effects is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Another benefit,” and “On the other hand” help readers identify the argument’s stages. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, links can feel mechanical, and some connections between sentences are unclear—for example, “However, variety of food gives us different taste…” does not clearly contrast with the preceding point about nutrition. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Use more precise referencing and connect examples explicitly to the point they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You communicate the main ideas using relevant topic vocabulary, including “global food products,” “variety,” “nutritional value,” “import and export,” and “local food business.” This gives you enough language to discuss the topic, but the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce accuracy. Examples include “contempraroy,” “custmers,” “nutrietional,” and “surffer,” as well as “feel bore” and “on daily bases.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “helpful for economical growth.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall position, but they make the writing less natural. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “feel bored,” “economic growth,” and “on a daily basis.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple sentences and some attempts at complex structures, including “because it decreases the worth of local food” and “when we eat same food on daily bases.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For instance, “it increases the variety” refers back to plural “products,” while “it assist to grow our economy” needs a plural subject or a different construction. The sentence beginning “Moreover, creates jobs” is incomplete, and the long sentence about eating the same food needs clearer punctuation. These issues are consistent with partial control: they rarely obscure the argument, but they limit accuracy. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence structure, especially when joining clauses.
