Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide supermarket food a positive development. You give two relevant reasons—access to healthier foods and greater choice—and support them with examples such as dragon fruit becoming widely available in India and the Dmart supermarket. This addresses the question, but the ideas are not developed equally or fully. The claim that imported food improves people’s health is repeated in the conclusion, yet you do not explain how availability leads to healthier diets or acknowledge that imported products may not always be nutritious. The point about “better living” and technology is also broad. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each reason more precisely and connect each example directly to your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the points they support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, relying heavily on “furthermore,” “for example,” and “moreover.” Some links between claims are not fully clear: the move from international food choices to “better living,” for instance, needs an explanation. The conclusion largely repeats the health and variety points rather than drawing them together. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make the relationship between each claim, explanation, and example explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic, including phrases such as “organic leafy greens,” “multiple options,” and “across the world.” There are also attempts at more specific wording, such as “nutrient values,” although this expression is not natural in context. Several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, including “devolopment,” “vegitables,” and “benifit.” Some phrases are vague or awkward, such as “the physical body of humans better” and “more than thirty plus options of nutrients.” Aim for precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the range of products or types of food available, rather than counting “options of nutrients,” and use a direct phrase such as “support people’s health.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “as” and a relative clause in “which leads to better living.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “people from different culture can experience” needs plural agreement, and “it helps in easy access … and increase” has an inconsistent verb pattern. The sentence beginning “firstly, it became easier” shifts tense without a clear reason, while “consumer’s have” uses an incorrect apostrophe and agreement form. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly after sentence openings and around commas. Practise consistent present-tense forms, subject–verb agreement, and accurate sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
