Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that this is a positive development, while acknowledging disadvantages, and you address both benefits and risks. The points about access to international foods, cultural awareness, and possible health effects are relevant. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction calls it positive, but the conclusion mainly says the system has improved and that it has affected people “in long run,” without clearly reaffirming whether the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Several ideas are also under-developed. For example, the Germany survey is mentioned without explaining what it measured or how it supports your argument, and the health concerns are asserted rather than illustrated. Explain and support your main reasons more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some links are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. The sentence beginning “Although it increases the accessibility…” is not smoothly connected to the preceding point, while “Therefore” introduces a claim about taste and texture that is not clearly linked to the chemical treatment. The final sentence also does not clearly resolve the argument. Use clearer links between cause and effect, and make the conclusion directly summarise your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “accessibility,” “economical growth,” “fertilizer,” “chemical coating,” and “allergies,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “consumner,” “disavantages,” “self-life,” and “it hasimpact us”; phrases such as “food from location” and “use huge amount to fertilizer” are also unnatural. Some expressions, including “Let us further delve into the topic,” sound formulaic rather than precise. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “food imported from other countries,” “preservatives,” and “a longer shelf life,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a cause-and-effect structure with “Therefore.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make meaning unclear. For example, “A huge number of food products has exported or imported” lacks a correct passive verb form, while “which may it possible” has an incomplete structure. In “people use huge amount to fertilizer,” the noun phrase and preposition pattern are incorrect; “if they can consumed” also has an incorrect passive form. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms.
