Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, supermarke in many part of the world offer items that are imported from differetn countries. This trend provide consumer greater choice and convenien, although it has some negative effect on environment. But I belive it is a positive development because it improves food availability and encourages international trade.
On the hand, one major advantage of this develpment is that people can enjoy wdie range of food throughout the year. In the past, people are mainly depned on locally made food and seasonal products. However, interational transportation allow supermarkets to sell vegetable, fruits and other items that are not available in other countries. For example, people leaving in parkistan can buy chees from italy and apples from newzealand, when these items are not locally avaibale. As a result, consumers can enjoy these tasty meals at home and maintain a more varied diet.
On the other hand, another benefit is that importing food from other countries support economic growth and create business opportunites. When supermarket purchase products from foreign countries, farmers and companies can reach larger market and increase sales. In additon, competition between locally produce food and international supplies may encourage businesses to improve the quality of items and offer reasonable price However, transporting trade from ships and planes can create air pollution and water polllution, which may effect inhabitnats. Therefore, government should encourage encourages environment friendly transporation and support local farmers.
In conclusion, although, transporation may effect environment but it not significant. In my opinion, it gives customer choice and make products from different countries available whole year and enhance opportunities for international businesses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability a positive development despite environmental costs. You address the question with relevant reasons, including year-round access to varied foods and opportunities for farmers and businesses to reach larger markets. The examples of Pakistani consumers buying Italian cheese and New Zealand apples help illustrate the first point. This meets the task well, and the argument shows some development beyond a simple list of advantages. However, the trade argument is less fully explained, and the environmental drawback is acknowledged but then dismissed as “not significant” without evidence or explanation. To strengthen the response further, develop this qualification and support each main claim more evenly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons and a counterpoint, and a conclusion restates your position. Linking phrases such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “In addition” help readers follow the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. “On the hand” is incomplete, and “On the other hand” introduces another benefit rather than a contrasting point. The environmental concern appears late in the second body paragraph, making that paragraph cover several functions at once. The conclusion also combines concession and opinion awkwardly. Use paragraphing to separate the environmental drawback, and choose transitions that accurately signal whether an idea adds, contrasts, or concludes.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “imported,” “seasonal products,” “international transportation,” “competition,” and “air pollution.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and phrases such as “business opportunities” suit the discussion. However, spelling errors are noticeable throughout, including “supermarke,” “differetn,” “develpment,” and “opportunites,” and some word combinations or forms are inaccurate, such as “locally made food,” “reasonable price,” and “transporting trade.” These slips sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Proofread carefully and build more precise collocations—for example, “locally produced food,” “at a reasonable price,” and “food transportation”—to improve accuracy and naturalness.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including contrast clauses (“although it has some negative effect”) and a conditional-style example introduced by “when.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “This trend provide” and “importing food … support”; verb forms are also inaccurate in “people are mainly depned” and “transportation may effect … but it not significant.” Articles, plurals, and sentence punctuation need attention, as in “a more varied diet” alongside “reasonable price,” and the missing full stop before “However.” These errors do not usually prevent communication, but they limit control. Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly inflected verb, and practise accurate concession and contrast clauses.
