Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's world of technology development every country has access to all kinds of food stuff. Nowadays in most countries buyers can purchase a food item that is being imported from other countries, when they go out to a supermarket. From my perspective it has both positive and negative aspects and this essay will discuss both sides.
This innovative development has captivated not only an influncial person but also a normal individual. The influence of social media is rising in today's world and everyone knows what other countries signature food items are, and they are curious about their taste. The access to exotic food from other countries has benefit people in many ways like the prices would be cheaper, when they buy it from a nearby supermarket. Therefore they don't have to travel to other countries just because they want to try their exotic foods.
The negative aspect is sometimes during importing there is delay because of circumstances occur during the period. The food items could be expire or packaging could be damaged because of longer flights. Fruits have short life span therefore importing could meddle with their original taste and it could lead to affect people's health.
The disadvantage of it is the emission of gasses in the atmosphere while importing these stuff. This not only harm the environment but also the living beings living on earth. Day by day our planet is suffering from the carbon emissions which are releasing from transportation. Although this development has offers positive aspects, it leads to harmful impact to the environment.
In conclusion it's a great innovation in today's modern world that people have an access to different food items in nearby store however it has an detrimental impact on our ecosystem. The disadvantages outweigh the advantages. In my opinion, to import stuff from other countries governments ought to use other resources to decrease the imapct on environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and make your position clear in the conclusion: although imported food offers benefits, you believe its environmental disadvantages outweigh them. The essay gives relevant reasons on both sides, including access to unfamiliar foods, possible spoilage, and emissions from transport. However, some points are not fully explained or precisely connected to the question. For example, saying imported food “would be cheaper” is asserted without explaining when or why this is likely, and the discussion of delays and damaged packaging is brief. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a clear explanation or specific example, and make the comparison between consumer benefits and environmental costs more explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the argument easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Therefore,” “Although,” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, connections feel mechanical or the progression is unclear. The paragraph beginning “The negative aspect” focuses on spoilage, while the next paragraph introduces emissions without a transition showing how these drawbacks relate. Some references are also vague, such as “this development” and “these stuff.” Improve cohesion by using clearer topic sentences, linking each example directly to the main claim, and varying transitions rather than relying on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “exotic food,” “importing,” “carbon emissions,” and “ecosystem,” and these choices help communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “an influential person” does not fit the point about social media, “signature food items” is awkward, and “meddle with their original taste” is not an appropriate collocation. Spelling errors such as “influncial,” “gasses,” and “imapct” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “traditional dishes,” “affect the taste,” and “greenhouse-gas emissions.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation and a concession beginning “Although this development…”. Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences awkward. For example, “The access … has benefit people” has an incorrect verb form, while “This not only harm” lacks subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in “people has an access” and “it leads to harmful impact.” Practise checking agreement, verb forms, and article use, especially in longer sentences. Breaking complex ideas into two accurate clauses can also help you retain variety without losing control.
