Student answer (Band 5.5)

In lots of nations nowdays, customers can go to a supermarket and purchase food produced all over the globe. So, in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have included some merits behind this trend and, I have also provided some demerits associated with this trend.

Taking into account some demerits of this trend, the first and foremost is very unhealthy for our body. The use of lots of palm oil in food attracting the obesity and cardiovascular disease. After eating that food of palm oil esacalte the clots of fat in their cardiovascular veines and let to the heart attack and several dangerous heart diseases and increasing the fat and let to the increasing of weight.

Yet, another reason is making that food without cleanliness. For saving few money which is giving to cleaners per month. Factories are making that food from machines which are not clean and lots of species like mouse, mosquitos and cockroaches were walking on that machines and products.

Now, considering the merits behind this trend, the first and foremost is using the money on good products. Supermarket food higher in price and the quality and the quantity of food also increasing in the supermarket food than that in road side stalls. Because the supermarket food is providing the good service for purchasing that product.

Yet, another merits is aiding to help for tasting the food of all over the world. Because the taste of the different food alter and it help by eating food they comapre the food with other food and prefering the better food rathen than staying at one food product.

To conclude, food of supermarket is unhealthy and unclean, whereas the merits is invest money on quality product and help for tasting various food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the topic by presenting disadvantages such as health and hygiene concerns, and advantages such as product quality and access to international tastes. However, the task asks you to decide whether this development is positive or negative, and your conclusion merely repeats both sides without making a clear overall judgement. Several points are also insufficiently explained: for example, the claim that supermarket food is higher in price and quality does not clearly show why this is a benefit, and the palm-oil discussion makes broad health claims without a specific example or support. State your position directly and develop two or three relevant reasons with clearer explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for disadvantages and advantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Taking into account,” “Yet, another reason,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the broad structure. However, these transitions sometimes feel mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is less clear. The health paragraph, for instance, moves from palm oil to blood clots, heart attacks, and weight gain without clearly connecting or prioritising the claims. Some references, such as “that food” and “this trend,” are also vague. Use more precise links between each claim and its explanation, and make the conclusion follow from a clearly stated position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “cardiovascular disease,” “factories,” “quality,” and “various food,” and you use some paraphrasing of the prompt. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “attracting the obesity,” “esacalte the clots of fat,” and “help for tasting.” Spelling errors, including “nowdays,” “comapre,” and “rathen,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than assembling words that do not fit together. For example, describe food as “contributing to obesity” and say that imported products “allow consumers to try cuisines from other countries.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including “Because the supermarket food is providing the good service for purchasing that product.” However, complex sentences are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, and frequent errors can make the intended relationships difficult to follow. For example, “the first and foremost is very unhealthy” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “the first and foremost is using the money on good products” does not form a clear sentence. There are also problems with agreement and verb forms in “the merits is invest money” and “it help.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
