Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify convenience as a benefit and environmental harm from packaging as a drawback, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the task asks whether this development is positive or negative, and your own overall view is not made clear: the introduction promises to discuss both sides, but the conclusion is incomplete and does not weigh them. Both points are only briefly explained, with no specific example or developed reasoning. The response also contains 174 words, which is 76 words below the 250-word minimum; 15 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from that count. To improve, state your position clearly, develop each reason with explanation and a relevant example, and complete the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: an introduction is followed by a paragraph on advantages and one on disadvantages, and connectors such as “For instance,” “Therefore,” and “As a result” show an attempt to link ideas. However, progression is limited, and the final paragraph ends abruptly at “not good” rather than completing the point or providing a conclusion. Some linking is repetitive or does not express a clear relationship; for example, “As a result” is used after claims without explaining the consequence. The opening also repeats much of the task wording, while the phrase “I shall discuss both positive and negative viewpoints” does not guide the reader to a clear position. Use a focused topic sentence in each paragraph, connect explanation to evidence, and finish with a concise conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “modernisation,” “varieties,” and “environment,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is uneven and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “conventional epoch,” “predominant merits of buyer,” and “convenient service” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “buyers” and “purchase” are also repeated frequently. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “chamges,” “convinient,” and “caes,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for precise, natural expressions such as “the main advantage for consumers” and “a wide range of products,” and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, including a contrast beginning “Whereas” and a reason-result sequence with “Therefore.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and plurals occur often enough to make parts difficult to follow. For example, “there are variety of goods are available” combines incompatible structures, while “it provide harmful impact” has incorrect agreement and an awkward grammatical pattern. “Go to a supermarkets” also has an article–plural mismatch. Some sentences are fragments or incomplete, particularly “Whereas in this conventional era…” and the final “As a result…” sentence. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence endings.
