Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, in majority countires people can get almost every imported food from local supermarket. In my opinion this is a largely positive development.
Firstly, in recent years it is hard to find variety of foods. So by purchasing imported product people can get proper nutrition from these products. Alongside people can connect with other countries cultural values or get familiar with their national foods taste. For example, in canada due to significant level of cold weather it is hard to produce mangoes. Now people get traditional mangoes in their own country, which will mostly imported from Pakistan, India and from Bangladesh.
Secondly, those countries who mainly aim to increase their export ratio. Developing countries farmers can earn significantly by exporting their own product such as rice and mangoes.
On the other hand, there are some downside of that development. because when people buy imported products, so they has to pay higher amount camparable to local products. Moreover nowadays due to high numbers of exportation, this will effect on global economic because of fuel used for ships and for planes. This will also affect global environment due to burn a lot of fuel, in addition most of time people dont get fresh imported food because of long route travels it is difficult to maintain the food fresh.
In conclusion although importing food from around the world causes environmental polution. Alongside people have to pay high amount, but i believe the advantages of variety, improved nutritions, and economic benifits for farmers outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you consider worldwide supermarket food “a largely positive development,” and the conclusion restates that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. You address both sides with relevant points, including nutrition and choice, export income for farmers, higher prices, and fuel-related environmental harm. The Canada-and-mango example helps illustrate why imports can be useful. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: the link between imported food and “proper nutrition” is unclear, and the export-benefit point needs a fuller explanation of how farmers or communities gain. The disadvantages are also listed quickly. Develop each main point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a specific example to make the argument more convincing and balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “So by purchasing imported product” does not clearly follow from the claim that variety is hard to find, and “Alongside” is used where a more precise link is needed. The second paragraph also shifts abruptly from consumers’ benefits to farmers’ export aims. Use topic sentences that identify each paragraph’s central point, and connect supporting explanations directly to that point. Clearer referencing and fewer formulaic transitions would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “imported,” “export ratio,” “global environment,” and “traditional mangoes,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “significant level of cold weather.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision: “proper nutrition from these products,” “high numbers of exportation,” and “maintain the food fresh” are not natural formulations. Several spelling errors, including “countires,” “comparable,” “pollution,” and “benefits,” are noticeable. Aim to learn common word partnerships for this topic and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish nutritional value, consumer choice, export earnings, and environmental impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“due to… it is hard to produce mangoes”) and a contrastive conclusion. Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “in majority countires” needs an article and a plural noun; “they has to pay” has subject–verb disagreement; and “there are some downside” has a plural agreement error. The sentence beginning “because when people buy…” is also awkwardly joined, while “this will effect on global economic” has an unclear grammatical structure. Practise articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, and build complex sentences around one clear main clause. Punctuating sentence openings consistently will also improve accuracy.
