Student answer (Band 5.0)

In most of the countries nowadays, people can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. Which is really beneficial for the consumers and traders all over the world.

The world has become a global village and anything which looked impossible in past is very possible nowadays. Food can be stored for the long time as it has never been done before. Canned food can be stored for a long time without freezing and could be used anytime when needed. This is really good to get any type of food anywhere in the world. Now we can eat food came from different countries and can purchase from any supermarket across the city. In past people were only used to eat fresh food and they didn't had access to the food from other countries and never tasted if anyone have not travelled so far. But now its really beneficial for us as we can get food came from foreign countries in our own city. This is also good for international traders and businesses working in food industry. It improved the food health as well as we can taste ddifferent type of food with this advancement. This business also gave more jobs to the human who work in food companies where they cook the food others pack the food to send them to other places.

I think it was really beneficial and positive development in the food industry. I have also tasted multiple type of foods came from other countries which I bought from supermarket.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You clearly state a positive position, both at the beginning and in the conclusion, and give relevant reasons: access to international foods, benefits for traders, and employment in the food industry. However, the response only partially develops these points. For example, the claim that international food “improved the food health” is unclear and is not explained, while the jobs point is mentioned briefly without an example or detail. The discussion also focuses mainly on benefits to consumers and businesses, with little consideration of any qualification or specific supporting evidence. The response is 244 words, six words below the 250-word minimum; the 13 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop the reasons more fully and add a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation: the opening gives your view, the main section presents reasons, and the final paragraph restates your position and adds personal experience. However, the main section is a single long paragraph containing several ideas, so the progression is difficult to follow. Connections between points are often repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “This is really good” and “This is also good.” Some linking is attempted with “But now” and “as well as,” but relationships between ideas are not always clear. For example, the move from food storage to employment is abrupt. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons and make each paragraph develop one central point with clear, varied links.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main topic, with relevant terms such as “global village,” “Canned food,” “international traders,” and “food industry.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, including “food,” “good,” and “beneficial.” Some choices are inaccurate or unclear: “improved the food health” does not express a clear meaning, and “multiple type of foods” is not a natural phrase. There are also spelling errors, such as “ddifferent.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your overall position, but they reduce precision. Aim for more specific vocabulary and check spelling, word forms, and natural collocations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often inaccurate. The opening fragment, “Which is really beneficial,” should be joined to the preceding sentence. Other examples include “people were only used to eat” and “they didn't had access,” where the verb forms are faulty, and “food came from different countries,” where the clause needs a suitable verb form. Agreement and sentence construction also cause problems in “where they cook the food others pack the food.” These errors recur and sometimes make the reader pause, although your main meaning remains understandable. Practise forming complete sentences, controlling past and present verb forms, and using conjunctions and punctuation to connect clauses accurately.
