Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear opinion—“I think it is an extremely positive development”—and give relevant points about convenience, travel costs and access to international products. However, the response only partially develops the task: the reasons are brief, and some examples are unclear or do not convincingly support the argument. For instance, the claim that buying goods worldwide “extremely costs them” is difficult to interpret, and the discussion of people running businesses does not clearly explain how global supermarket food benefits consumers. The conclusion is also unfinished, so it does not complete your position. The response is 56 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop two clear reasons with specific, relevant examples and finish with a complete conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Your response has an identifiable introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In addition” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because points are repeated or introduced without a clear relationship. The first body paragraph moves from saving time to travel costs and then to products people “just dreamed of,” without explaining the links. The next paragraph shifts to businesses and revenue, which does not clearly continue the consumer-focused argument. Some connectors, including “However,” do not signal a clear contrast. The conclusion is incomplete. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, explain it in sequence, and use linking words only where their relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “substantial range,” “worldwide,” “international brands” and “expenditures,” and the reader can generally identify that you are discussing access to imported products. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. For example, “purchase goods from all over the world to their supermarkets” does not express the intended idea naturally, while “a significant amount of public” and “easily accessible those products” are awkward. Spelling errors such as “wolrd,” “itmes,” “extremly” and “avaialbe” are also noticeable. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for shopping and food imports, checking spelling, and choosing precise words rather than adding less familiar terms where they do not fit.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, including “although these developments has some drawbacks but has numerous bene…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms. For example, “One of these are saving time” has faulty agreement and structure; “Numerous individuals runs business” has agreement and number errors; and “Several shopping centers and international brands has been made” uses an incorrect verb form and agreement. The opening also contains “an extremely a positive development,” where the article pattern is incorrect. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then extend them with correctly formed clauses, and proofread for subject–verb agreement and articles.
