Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, in various countries people mainly go to restaurants for shoping and selecte abroad products for their personal uses. Although foreign products have some advers effects on social community and can increase chance of pullution, I firmly agree that benifits far outweigh the drawbacks because it increases variety of foods, vegetables and other products.
One major positive development of others country products can increase a wide range of varieties throughout the country. Export items from other nations can broaden diversity amoung foods, it can increase access to different culture through foods. It also provides an experience to access those fruits, vegetarians and other groceries which not locally grow on that area.
On the hand, it also offers some disadvantages for local community and may be chance of air pollution. Generally other country products mostly expensive in the market and low family communities don't afford to buy it easily. Moreover, long transportation may increase of pollution and food spoilage. It also creates problems for local formers to sellout their products and earn money. For example, in our country Pakistan, mainly export fruits from Afghanistan, tea from Switzerland and some items from others country that can create bad effects on farmers.
In conclusion, although foreign products have some detrimental effects on society such as, pollution, wast of local products, I believe they provide more benifits that drawbacks because it increases chna

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in the introduction, saying the benefits “far outweigh the drawbacks,” and you discuss both advantages and disadvantages. The points about greater food variety, access to products that do not grow locally, transport pollution, and pressure on local farmers are relevant. However, several ideas are only briefly stated: for example, the claim that imported food gives access to other cultures is not illustrated, and the Pakistan example is difficult to follow and does not clearly support the point about farmers. The conclusion is cut off, so your final reasoning is incomplete. The response also contains 229 words, below the required 250. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or specific example, and complete the conclusion to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main position and the two sides of the issue. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and links between ideas can feel mechanical. For instance, “On the hand” introduces the opposing view, but the following points move quickly from affordability to pollution and then farmers without explaining their connections. The example about Pakistan is also hard to interpret. The final sentence ends abruptly, weakening the overall organisation. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and ensure the conclusion is complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “variety,” “transportation,” “pollution,” and “local farmers,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “detrimental effects.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “go to restaurants for shoping,” “low family communities,” and “access those fruits, vegetarians.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, including “benifits,” “pullution,” and “formers,” which can distract the reader. Aim for accurate, natural phrases for this topic, such as “shop at supermarkets,” “low-income families,” and “locally grown produce.” Proofreading spelling and checking how words combine will make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession structure beginning “Although” and a reason clause with “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “One major positive development of others country products can increase…” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “It also provides an experience to access…” has an awkward structure. In “long transportation may increase of pollution,” the verb pattern is incomplete. The conclusion also stops mid-sentence, leaving the final clause unfinished. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, prepositions, and clause structure before submitting.
