Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, in many countries around the world consumers can purchase food from large supermarkets whose production is done globally all over the world.People generally like to eat food that comes from various sources and produced by large manufacturers.I think mostly in the same way and consider it as a positive development. How this development in many countries happen now a days and its impact can be seen in various aspects here.
Supermarkets having international food sources allows them to have variety of food so customers can purchase whatever they want. This gives them chance to get most desired and demanding foods so they can enjoy them. For instance people of young age can get food supplements like creatine or whey protein that can help them to look muscular and attain good shape instead of relying on local and cheap food items.
Supermarkets can make large amount of revenue by selling food from global sources specially asian countries where they can sell food at dollars rate. This can make the supermarket bigger and better and can motivate them to advertise good quality food that is acclaimed all over the world.
Some down sides of this development is that it can affect the local market as small markets and local stores that sell locally made food.Production of good items by local manufactures would decrease and it can have adverse impacts on economy of the respective country as well.
At the end, I would like to say that their should be mix of local and global food items and promotion of local items should be done more often so that can consumers can know the worth of local food items and can purchase to make a country growing by leaps and bounds.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider worldwide food availability positive, while recognising a possible cost to local businesses. The points about greater choice and supermarkets’ revenue are relevant, and the final paragraph proposes balancing imported and local products. However, the benefits are not developed equally: the example of protein supplements is quite narrow and does not explain broader consumer or social benefits. The claim that supermarkets earn more by selling Asian food “at dollars rate” also needs clearer reasoning and support. The drawback to local producers is relevant but brief. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of global food access more fully and support each main point with a specific, well-explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting benefits and a drawback, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. Paragraphs generally focus on one central idea, and phrases such as “For instance” and “At the end” signal examples and closure. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, and the opening moves from the topic to the writer’s view and then to “How this development…,” which does not establish a clear direction. The conclusion also introduces a recommendation without fully connecting it to the earlier discussion. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing, and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international food sources,” “local market,” “manufacturers,” and “adverse impacts on economy.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and attempts such as “revenue” and “promotion” show some range beyond basic wording. However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “production is done globally all over the world,” “most desired and demanding foods,” and “at dollars rate.” Repetition of “food,” “local,” and “development” also limits flexibility. Aim for more accurate collocations and avoid repeating the same general terms; for example, distinguish imported products, consumer choice, and domestic producers. Check spelling and word forms, such as “manufacturers,” as these slips reduce precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “supermarkets whose production is done globally” and a conditional-style explanation of how supplements “can help them.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “People generally like to eat food that comes from various sources and produced by large manufacturers” lacks a parallel verb structure, while “Supermarkets having international food sources allows them” has an unclear subject and agreement. There are also errors in “their should be mix” and “so that can consumers can know.” Improve sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement, articles, and clause construction. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make the argument easier to read.
