Student answer (Band 5.5)
The modern age technological advancements have connect world together, with the help of modern shipping machines and preservation methods consumers around the world can go to a supermarket purchase food produced internationally. The essay will discuss the pros and cons of the development and will argue that this is a positive development.
On the one hand, demand and supply around the world has connected countries together. Due to wast demand of different things produced around the world many countries build resources to provide access of these things to local people. But everything has its drawbacks indirectly these individuals are facing consequences of these imports. Natural world is being damaged to due pollution. We have seen different broadcasts about floods, fire and especially changing environment. Technology has its biggest drawback in terms of pollution and it is heavily affecting our natural environment. Shipping machines and freezing methods use different energy sources to work and subsequently give birth to things affecting our environment.
On the other hand, many households are running around these modern developments. Individuals employed and farmers are receiving well fares around the world due to demand of these things in an another country. Many farmers didn't get fair prices for their produced goods in local markets. They work hard to produce these goods and sale them to buy basic essentials for their families. Moreover, due to to different geography of the countries and weather conditions not everything can be produced locally. In many countries oil can be available easily but farmers cannot produce wheat due to different weather conditions. Hence, with the help of trade they exchange things to balance out different needs around the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a relevant position in the introduction, saying the development is positive, and you consider both environmental costs and economic or practical benefits. The points about pollution from shipping and freezing, farmers gaining access to wider markets, and countries exchanging goods they cannot produce locally all address the topic. However, the argument is only partly developed: the environmental paragraph does not explain how these costs compare with the benefits, and the examples about oil and wheat are not clearly connected to supermarket food. Most importantly, the response ends with “Finally trade is,” so it does not provide a complete conclusion or restate your judgement. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example and finish by clearly confirming your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction followed by two contrasting body paragraphs, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” help readers identify the broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from international demand to environmental damage without a clear link, while the second shifts from employment to farmers’ prices and then to differences in geography. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, as in “But everything has its drawbacks indirectly,” and the final fragment “Finally trade is” leaves the essay without a completed ending. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, connect each supporting detail explicitly to it, and use a complete concluding paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “preservation methods,” “pollution,” “natural environment,” “demand,” and “trade,” and some choices show an effort to discuss economic and environmental effects. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “wast demand,” “build resources,” “well fares,” and “sale them.” “Modern age technological advancements” is also awkwardly formed, and “shipping machines” is imprecise for the transport involved. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your point. Build a more accurate set of phrases for international food trade and environmental impact, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “Due to” and “Moreover,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors are frequent, and complex sentences are often not controlled successfully. Examples include “advancements have connect,” “demand and supply … has connected,” and “many countries build resources,” where verb forms or agreement are faulty. The sentence beginning “Due to wast demand” is also incomplete in its construction, while “Finally trade is” is an unfinished clause. Punctuation is sometimes missing between linked ideas, particularly in the opening sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and divide long sentences into complete, clearly punctuated units.
