Student answer (Band 5.0)
in many countries people can go to the supermarket and bought a food that is produced all over the world .In my opinion it is very useful to go to the supermarket and purchase the foods that are produced all over the world . first it helps people to eat the food that are not grown in their country due to the enviornmental influence . As we know there are many foods in which many fruits or vegetables are included, they are not grown in every condition . They need the suitable tempereture or environment for their production. so it is very difficult to have all the kinds of foods in evey country. secondly it is beneficial in import and export of the country . It puts a positive impact on the socioeconomic status of the country . one of the most important example i want to write is i like to eat dragon fruit which is rarely seen in pakistani fruit sellers shop so it is easy for me to go to the supermarket and bought it because they have imported it from the other countries . In this way there are many other examples of different foods which many countries do not have but they bought them from the other countries to fullfil and ease their community . in this way they put the positive impact on their society in form of development . Develoment of a country has achieved when the needs of the people that are living there are fulfil

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you consider access to imported food a positive development, and you give relevant reasons, including access to produce that cannot grow locally and the example of dragon fruit in Pakistan. These points show a response to the question, but the discussion remains limited and some claims are not fully explained. For instance, you say imports improve a country’s “socioeconomic status” and contribute to development, without showing how this happens or considering possible disadvantages. The final sentence about meeting people’s needs is also incomplete, so it does not provide a developed conclusion. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason with a specific consequence and finish with a complete summary of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: it states your opinion, gives reasons, and adds a personal example. Connectors such as “first,” “secondly,” and “in this way” help signal the order of ideas. However, the progression is not consistently clear because several points are joined into one long block, and “in this way” is repeated without always making the relationship between ideas precise. The discussion also moves from access to food to trade and then to national development without clearly explaining the links. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each main reason, and the conclusion. More precise linking and clearer references to what “they” or “this” means would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “produced,” “environmental influence,” “import and export,” and “socioeconomic status,” and the dragon-fruit example makes the discussion concrete. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “all over the world,” “in this way,” and “positive impact.” Some word choices or collocations are unclear, such as “fullfil and ease their community,” which makes the intended meaning harder to understand. Spelling errors, including “enviornmental,” “tempereture,” and “Develoment,” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise expressions for food availability, trade, and consumer choice, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and “which,” so there is some variety. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “people can … bought” should use a consistent verb form, while “the food that are not grown” has an agreement error. The final clause, “the needs … are fulfil,” is also grammatically incomplete. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, with several sentences running together. Practise building accurate complex sentences, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms. Breaking long sentences into shorter, complete units will also improve clarity.
