Student answer (Band 5.5)

In many countries recenty, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food manufactred globally. I think this is a negative developments becuase of it can affect the people safety and products may have less quality.

An important reason why the avaliabilty of global food to consumers is a negative devlopment is that it threaten consumers safety. Many people have allergy to specific ingredients so if the market full off products from different countries consumers might buy products that contain substances that could be harmful. Although, products could have labels, the language that is written could not be understable. For instance, many globally prodcuts in the market contain peanunts butter which can cuase a sever sensitivity to consumers who consume them because they do not read or understand what components they contain. Having some rules about the products which are avaliable from all over the world would help to protect citizens safety

Another reason is that the consumers do not know about the quality of products that manufacture in different countries. Some products could manufacture without using safety procedures. For examples, in third world countries the manufacturing process do not have any obligations procedures which result to less quality products. In Yemen many products are stored in stock for a long period which decrease the quality and make the products not good for consumption.

In conclusion, I believe this is a negative development because if products that are manufactured in different countries are avaliable in supermarkets this could threate consumers health and the products may not have a good quality. .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability negative, mainly because of safety risks and uncertain quality. Both reasons are relevant, and you support them with examples, including allergen labels that may be difficult to understand and food stored for long periods in Yemen. This addresses the question, but the discussion is unevenly developed. The safety paragraph explains a possible risk, though the peanut-butter example and the proposed need for rules could be connected more clearly to international supermarket products. The quality paragraph makes broad claims about manufacturing standards without explaining how consumers could assess or avoid poor-quality goods. Develop each point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and more precise support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates the position. Signposting such as “Another reason” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow this structure. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Although, products could have labels” does not clearly show the contrast intended, and the shift from allergen information to rules needs a more explicit link. Within the second body paragraph, the general claim about manufacturing procedures and the Yemen storage example could be connected more directly. Use linking expressions to show the precise relationship between claims and examples, and make references such as “which” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “ingredients,” “labels,” “safety procedures,” and “manufacturing process.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “allergy” and “sensitivity.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “avaliabilty,” “peanunts,” and “threate.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “products that manufacture” and “obligations procedures.” These issues limit the precision of your vocabulary, even though the overall meaning is generally recoverable. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships for food safety and production, such as “products manufactured under safety regulations.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if the market full off products … consumers might buy” and a relative clause beginning “which result to less quality products.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “it threaten consumers safety” needs a correctly formed verb and possessive, while “products could manufacture” does not express the intended passive meaning. The opening sentence of the second paragraph also lacks a verb in “if the market full.” These errors sometimes make relationships harder to follow. Practise accurate passive forms and conditional clauses, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
