Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's world, an increasing number of countries has supermarkets where customers can go and purchase food produced all over the world. In my opinion this is a positive development. Because, supermarkets can provide convenience, availability and discount prices.
To commence with, the surgical increase in supermarkets ease people's lives with availability of every food product under one roof. This helps consumers to grab whatever they want insted of searching different stores. For instance, D-mart can provide every thing that a household needs like, groceries, clothes, shoes, stationery, etc. This benifits the society and saves a lot of time in shopping monthly gorceries.
Moreover, supermarkes offers significant discounts, where people can buy food products at lower price. Occasionally, most of the supermarkets runs fifty percent discounts, where customers can purchase at half price. Epitome, Most of the supermarkets gives huge discounts on festive seasons. In addition they also provide free gifts who buys above 1000 rupees.
Admittedly, small scale shopes can face reduce in custumers. In this case a considerable number of shopes shutdown due to loss.
In conclusion, although supermarkets provides convenience and food products at discounted prices, small-scale shopes may face a significant customer loss.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you consider worldwide food availability a positive development, mainly because it offers convenience and lower prices. The examples of shopping under one roof and supermarket discounts are relevant, and you briefly acknowledge a drawback for small shops. However, the response only partially develops the task: the discussion focuses largely on supermarkets in general rather than explaining the effects of buying food produced around the world. The point about small shops closing is also introduced but not explored or balanced against your position. The response is below the required 250 words, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop the global-food aspect directly and add specific explanation or examples for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a concession, and a conclusion. The progression from convenience to discounts and then to a disadvantage is generally easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “To commence with,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal this structure, though some are mechanical or do not fit naturally; “Epitome” does not clearly introduce the example that follows. The concession about small shops is very brief, and the conclusion mostly repeats the introduction rather than drawing the points together. Improve cohesion by using more natural transitions and clearer links between claims and examples, and develop the concession so it connects logically to your overall judgement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “availability,” “discounts,” “consumers,” and “significant customer loss.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts less clear or natural. For example, “surgical increase” does not express the intended idea, while “grab whatever they want” is informal for an academic essay. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “insted,” “benifits,” and “supermarkes.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main argument, but they reduce precision. Aim for accurate topic-specific phrases such as “a wider range of imported food” and check spelling carefully; avoid using uncommon words unless their meaning and context are certain.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “although” and a relative clause in “who buys above 1000 rupees.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. Examples include “an increasing number of countries has,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “supermarkets offers” and “supermarkets runs,” which also require plural agreement. The opening fragment “Because, supermarkets can provide…” should be joined to the preceding sentence or rewritten as a complete sentence. Articles and plural forms also need attention, as in “at lower price” and “a considerable number of shopes shutdown.” Practise checking agreement and sentence completeness, then vary sentence structures while keeping them accurate.
