Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern, world we see supermarkets dispaly massive food items imported from different countries. While these global trade is cause of concern for environment. I believe, this positive development in the society because imported food enhances our diet and helps in improving the economy in developing countries.

Arguements against the development focus primarily on environment. Transporting fresh fruits and vegetables and imported items from long distance require airplanes, ships and cargo to run this transport system they need huge fossil fuel. When these vehicles travelled through the atmosphere it releases the carbon emission in the green house, which create climatic change and accelerate global warming. Additionally when the consumers rely on foreign products, it damages the local farming. However, when the cosumers constantly buy the cheap imported items, the local farmers may loose out the business. leaving the domestic food supply valunerable during the global crises.

On the other hand, the benefits of the trade will definetly outweight the drawbacks of development. The main advantage of imported food items is we can able to eat freash friuts and vegetables in winter season, which are exported from warmer weather countries. Subsequently, it create employement oppurtunties for the young people exporting or importing require labour work. It increases the income of the country which help in improving the economy of the country. For example, farmers of latin America and africa grow premium quality of tropical fruits in winter seasoin which create job opportunities for thje people.

In conclusion, i believe this trend have create environmental pollution in world but it has positive development because it boost the diet of the people and helps in improving the economy of the developing countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you consider worldwide food availability positive despite environmental costs. You address both sides, explaining emissions and risks to local farmers before presenting dietary variety and employment as benefits. The examples of seasonal fruit from warmer countries and farming in Latin America and Africa are relevant. This meets the task well, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the link between food exports and improving a developing country’s economy would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how income reaches farmers or communities. The local food-supply concern is also introduced but not developed with an example. More specific support and fuller development of these ideas would make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs contrast disadvantages and benefits, and the conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “On the other hand” helps readers follow the shift in argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the sentence beginning “Transporting fresh fruits…” runs several ideas together, making the relationship between transport, fuel use and emissions harder to follow. “Additionally” introduces a relevant point, but the transition from environmental damage to local farming could be smoother. The conclusion repeats the main claims without drawing them together. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing to strengthen the progression between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “global trade,” “fossil fuel,” “carbon emission,” “local farming,” and “domestic food supply.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms or collocations are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: examples include “dispaly,” “valunerable,” “outweight,” and “employment opportunities” misspelled as “employement oppurtunties.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “green house” and “run this transport system.” Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common combinations such as “generate emissions” and “create employment.” This would make your vocabulary more accurate and natural while preserving the relevant range you already demonstrate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “While these global trade…” and a relative clause in “which are exported from warmer weather countries.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main argument is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “these global trade is” has a mismatch, while “it create employement” and “this trend have create” use incorrect verb forms. The opening also has a comma after “modern” where one is not needed, and several sentences join independent ideas without clear punctuation. Review subject–verb agreement and past participles, and divide long sentences into complete clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would improve clarity.
